If you ask me, most 19th ward people agree with Graves in philosophical terms. They will support him in the privacy of the voting booth. In public, they are scared of the local machine and strive to be politically correct.
This movement will not affect Matt O'Shea because people can sense his sincerity but eventually, other local democrats will be doomed because they are just full of s---.
Anyone still wondering why O'Shea got the Aviation post? It was so he would re-double his efforts in reining in the eroding Dem voting base in the 19th.Graves is going to pose a real problem down here for a change.GOOD!! The 19th has sheepishly been handing over their votes since ad infinitum to any and all Dumbocrats
Graves is coming after whatever is left of the Hynes machine. He was a loyal trooper for years and years. Among the best they had. They showed him nothing but disrespect. Payback time is here. Good luck Steve.
I can remember when Steve Graves was a democratic precinct captain. He was very respectful of everyone and always wore a suit and tie. He always did the right thing and you never heard anything bad about him. He was one of the more capable captains and could always be counted on to deliver big.
I have every reason too believe he will deliver big again and do it in a very classy way.
Don't be surprised if the repubs run a candidate for alderman. the right candidate can win. its not that peopler fed up with oshea but they are fed up with the dec party and preckwinkle-rahm-madigan. non of them have done anything for us here anyway.
I agree,I think Matt is a very good alderman, however him virtually being another yes vote for everything Rahm wants is going to hurt him. The right Republican candidate could poach this seat
The thing about Graves is that while he was Hyneses driver, he saw and heard things and of course took names. Years later those people with the names showed him great disrespect. Graves never forgot the names.
It was a good turnout for only a 3rd meeting and on a Monday night in July, I suggest future meetings need to be promoted more and in advance. Look our democrat party is not the same, it has become this preckwinkle socialist revolution crap, what does that do for us hardworking family guys who pay the damn bills... I tired of It, I heard her speak and all she goes on about is how people of color are in jail unfairly and how the hospital system needs more money.. come on already, cut some county spending and lower our damn taxes.
more than a few former democratic precinct captains there tonight. that spells trouble for the dems in the future.

Where is Gino Naughton when you need him?
DeleteIs it true that Matt O’Shea’s chief of staff Marty Joyce is at the Southside GOP meeting at Bourbon Street spying on who’s in attendance?
ReplyDeleteSO WHAT?
DeleteI doubt Matt would do something like that.

ReplyDeleteO'Shea supported the mayor when the mayor took away the retiree widow's health insurance. That's why O'Shea got the Aviation job.
DeleteWhat have O'Shea, Cunningham, Hurley, etc. done for YOU or your family?
ReplyDeleteThey've done plenty for their own families, but what have they done for YOU?
All have spouce on government payroll.
DeleteSpouce? Ahhhh.....never mind

ReplyDeleteI don't think Graves has a beef with O'Shea. He does with some of the elements of the Hynes machine. They know who they are. Their asses have had it.
DeleteNo prob with Matt
DeleteMatt will kiss up to him . His job on line. If he doesn’t kids up you may see him as the next day bartender at McNally’s .
DeleteHynes was good for throwing his people under the bus.. I know I was.

DeleteThe right Republican candidate for state rep and state senator could also win. Who would have thought Trump could win?
DeleteThankfully I've been lucky enough where I've never had to use the Alderman at all. & that's certainly not a slam, just never needed any of them
ReplyDeleteOff topic a bit but what is being done on 95th st where we have all this new vacant red brick buildings?
Delete19th ward GOP is alive and energized.

Preckwickle could care less about the 19th ward residents. Why do we support her?
