Why oh why do the 19th ward voters continue voting democratic, regardless of what is at stake

Stockholm syndrome is a condition that causes hostages to develop a psychological alliance with their captors as a survival strategy during captivity.[1] These feelings, resulting from a bond formed between captor and captives during intimate time spent together, are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims. Generally speaking, Stockholm syndrome consists of "strong emotional ties that develop between two persons where one person intermittently harasses, beats, threatens, abuses, or intimidates the other."[2] The FBI's Hostage Barricade Database System shows that roughly eight percent of victims show evidence of Stockholm syndrome.[3]
It was formally named in 1973 when four hostages were taken during a bank robbery in Stockholm, Sweden. The hostages defended their captors after being released and would not agree to testify in court against them.[4] Stockholm syndrome is ostensibly paradoxical because the sympathetic sentiments captives feel towards their captors are the opposite of the fear and disdain an onlooker may feel towards the captors.
There are four key components that generally lead to the development of Stockholm syndrome:
  • A hostage's development of positive feelings towards their captor
  • No previous hostage-captor relationship
  • A refusal by hostages to co-operate with police forces and other government authorities
  • A hostage's belief in the humanity of their captor, for the reason that when a victim holds the same values as the aggressor, they cease to be perceived as a threat.[2][3]

    Rahm Emanuel accepted donations from Venit, who grabbed Terry Krews by the $%^&*. Venit is also a buddy of Ari. Time for everyone to reconsider their commitment to the Emanuel family.

    I'm guessing it's because most of the residents feel that if they voted Republican somehow,some way, someone would find out and they'd be dragged from their homes and beaten with sticks

      Well anyone can find out if you vote Republican in the primaries because you have to declare it before you get a ballot. This public "outing" of Republicans at the primary voting precinct is enough to scare away a lot of city workers, understandably. Obviously the general election is different though because it is still a private ballot. Hence the larger number of people who voted for Trump in our Ward. Even blacks supported Trump in larger numbers than typically support Republicans. This is anecdotal but I know a teacher at St. Barnabas and she said a lot of the black kids enrolled their indicated support for DJT and obviously that is coming from their families. Jobs are jobs and money is all the same color - green. Many of us are confident that Trump will help the economy and therefore everyone who works.

    This is not your fathers democratic party any longer. Harry Truman, John Kennedy, Richard J. Daley and other truly great men are gone. They have been replaced by the Clintons, Obams, Diane Feinstein, Mayor Bloomberg, and other extremist, intent on destroying the America we all know.

    To support these dems to to support our eventual destruction.
