Police are warning of a recent string of armed robberies in the Beverly and Morgan Park neighborhoods on the Far South Side.

In four incidents, the suspects exited a vehicle, approached someone who was alone at the time and, armed with handguns, demanded purses and cellphones, according to a community alert from Chicago Police. The robbers then left the scene in a waiting getaway car.

The robberies happened:
At 10:40 a.m. Oct. 12 in the 9500 block of South Damen;

At 9:15 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 10800 block of South Church; and
At 9:40 a.m. Nov. 6 in the 2100 block of West 98th Street.

The suspects were described as two African-American males, thought to be between 14 and 18 years old, weighing between 130 and 150 pounds and standing about 5-foot-5, police said. Two other males were waiting inside the car, described as a silver, four-door sedan.

Anyone with information on the armed robberies is asked to contact Area South detectives at (312) 747-8273.

    The police have issued a Warning... There have been 4 not 2 cases of similar ARMED ROBBERIES IN BEVERLY. Does this mean we will get proper policing in our neighborhood now that guns are being put to our heads? If not what does it take for our community to have proper coverage? Please pay attention to your surroundings.

      O’Shea thought he cleaned up the area by having a pizza party for thugs. Maybe he should march down 111th again with the blacks and have pizza

    Perhaps if we get CPD back to this side of 22...............and lets try to keep them out of Bourbon St. amp Dunkin Donuts. I saw 3 of them eating on Cicero Ave in Oak Lawn the other day. They should eat before they go to work.

      Or at least eat in the areas that they are assigned to patrol. Most people eat lunch when they can at their jobs...and many eat at their desks or often go without lunch or dinner because they are just too busy. I am not saying police should not get a chance to eat but come on guys. Also remember it is not their fault that the idiots that live in Chicago and our inbred Democratic Party machine connected families...who are either on the government dole, or on the right payroll with a government job, keep voting for the radical liberal judges who let the criminals go....like old "Let em go Leo" the black judge who routinely let em go....and the idiots in this ward keep electing DummocRATS to represent us who are on the side of the criminal with their bleeding hearts and are against the men and women of law enforcement. Until we make them pay, they will not change...and the mayhem will continue..

    The cops are spoiled. Make them work without food breaks.

      I don't think they should not be able to eat and have a break like any other person who has a job. I think the fact that they leave their Districts is what annoys people. I m sure you get to take "food breaks". There are actually laws regarding employees that mandate breaks for people. Cops have a very tough job. I think I have a tough job too, but the odds of someone attacking me or shooting at me, or the odds that I will get into a physical altercation with someone is almost zero. Not so for the police. I don't think it is spoiled to get to have "food breaks", although I admit I often don't get much in the way of a break at my job.

    They are spoiled beyond belief. Now the firemen, they are not spoiled. Though macho men they are. If you really want to stop crime send in the firemen.
