Preckwinkle should resign

NO MORE

She was supposed to be a reformer. She was elected after riding a wave of voter discontent galvanized by a sales tax increase and a general feeling that her predecessor lacked leadership skills. She promised to roll back the tax and lead the county in an efficient manner. That was in 2010.

Fast forward to 2017, that sales tax has been reinstated. Now there is a bullet tax, parking tax, soda-pop tax, increased alcohol tax and increased property taxes.  The county budget has been increasing at a rate of 4 times the inflation rate, county unionized employees have received massive pay raises and there have never been so many of them as she has been hiring everyone's friends and relatives. Thousands of dangerous criminals have been released from the county jail and are now roaming the streets in a cost cutting move and a large portion of the county hospital budget is now funded by Obamacare. Despite her tax increases, the county pension liabilities remain unfunded.

She have given contracts out to campaign donors, grabbed control of the States Attorneys office by placing an inexperienced lackey in the spot and constantly fanned the flames of racial divide by seeming to spend freely on social programs and imposing taxes which are not collected fairly.

This is not what the good people of Cook County envisioned when they picked her over Todd Stroger. Her management style is anything but transparent; and it is a fact that she  have mismanaged Cook County government and outright abused the taxpayers. She should just leave.

The problem here is that Preckwinkle has an elementry understanding of money and finance. She never ran a business. Never built anything. The constant bureaucrat. Not a good person to be running things.

Does it really matter which left wing DemocRAT runs the County? Or the state? Or the Atty General Office? Or city of Chicago? What has happened to Illinois is that over past 30 years white flight....and black flight have sent hundreds of thousands of Chicago thinking Democrats to the suburbs where they vote the same as when they lived in Chicago (the city they are escaping). Along with about 500,000 more Hispanics into our State has turned it into a Democrat stronghold. Also a sinking ship.

Taxwinkle ceated a win/win situation with her failed pop tax. If it went though, she's a hero for balancing the budget. If it fail, which was more likely, she's hero for "cleaning up Crook County" on the backs of the workers.

The tax enraged the general public to the point where they are now applauding the potential firing of 100's of workers.

The tax also forced elected officials to publicly support a ridiculous tax, if only to keep from cutting jobs and services for an idea that was doomed from the start.

    Merry Christmas, Taxwinkle
