Cook County soda tax approved by judge, effective Wednesday.
Toni the Taxer |
- Hired 70 administrators since April 1
- Handing out consulting contracts to friends and former pols with similar ideology
- Giving hundreds of hard to trace, step raises to her people
- Maintains the books in a very peculiar manner. Makes it impossible to figure out what is really going on. Won't post the books on the Internet
- Evading Shakman oversight on a daily basis
This is the most regressive tax imaginable. The effect will be an almost immediate departure of many food stores and restaurants to other counties. The cook county commissioners have inflicted much damage to our economy. They need to be voted out.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, all of them.

Did anyone think the Judge would rule any other way? It was all legit...... The soda tax is there to help us all be more healthy.....
ReplyDeleteAnd LINK card holders are exempt from this tax? And this tax was initiated to address a health/sugar related medical issue. Who the ---- does she think drinks all the orange pop?
ReplyDeleteMembers of "the community" are exempt from almost everything. the ILCS is radically being changed so "community" members don't get charged with felonies, only misdemeanors.
DeleteI hope everyone remembers ALL of this come next election, including the judge that gave the go ahead on this.

DeleteJudge Daniel Kubisiac (sp?) can write a 15 page defense of his decision but to whack everyone except LINK card holders is discriminatory and bullshit. I hope you remember his name and all of those county commissioners to voted for this tax. With any common sense of fairness, the appeal filed by the retail merchants association will prevail.
DeleteDart has many many family members on 6 digit payroll. Many of you reading this are part of his payroll.

DeleteMaybe she can use all her Democratic Socialist political knowledge to fix the state of Illinois, you know what with Rauner coming along over the past two years and wrecking a well oiled, spend within your limits state. But it doesn't have to be her.....whatever Democrat (leftist) that we end up with will fix things up in our state....just like Toni is doing in Crook County. I cant wait......to move
ReplyDeleteShe kinda reminds me of James Earl Jones.
