You can ascertain so much from a name.
Guaranteed Lowest Interest Rate Field Another testament to the unabashed greed we have grown so accustomed to seeing, by the White Sox owners. Do you think they could get a few more words in that name?
Is there anyone out there who can explain the "naming rights" for Comiskey Park? It was my understanding that the facility was built with State funding and that the rent that the White Sox pay is based on attendance reaching a certain number. I have read that the naming rights allows changes and maintenance to the facility. But when a company signs up for naming rights for a certain number of years, who gets the money? Who are the checks made out to and how is the facility itself paid for if the White Sox get concessions, advertising and naming rights revenues? And how does the facility get paid for if the rent is predicated on attendance which for so many years has been lackluster?
Can't they just say "Sox Park" @ (whatever corporate name) Field.
