I think there's a chance the Republicans can hold out until after the election as long as weepy eyed Boehner isn't in there throwing everyone to the left of the aisle. Not too sure about Ryan.
I believe that the Senate gets to vote on the nominee for Sup Ct. I don't believe the House gets a vote. So the leftists will have to try to pressure a few wobbly Republicans in the Senate. I do believe we have quite a panzy here in Illinois that may want to suck up to the liberal media during his re-election this year. Kirk is a twit. I will send him a letter stating that how he votes on this issue - if there is a vote - is how I will decide my vote for him - up...or down!! But don't count on him being there when we need him.
You're right about that, last time around, he spent a lot of his spare time brushing up his resume with all those bullshit Armed Forces commendations he gave himself.
Democrats like Uncle Joe Biden have behaved with viciousness, partisanship, and extremism in attempts to try to block Republican justices basically all the time. We have allowed one rubber stamp liberal after another by Clinton and now Obama - all in the name of collegiality and Presidential prerogatives and so forth. Now it is time to stand and fight!!! Call your Senators, call the White House. Call Mitch McConnell's Office. This is as bad or worse than the re-election of Obama. Tell them to promise any nominee the worst possible process, including unearthing and exposing any possible piece of dirt on the potential candidate unless a moderate voice at least is selected. No pro abortion cult members need apply.
Very true. My point was to fight to the end to stop a known lefty to sit on the court. And my point was also assuming it would be Obama making the appointment, and we can not for one second think he is going to appoint a conservative, so as a fall back we should at least demand a reasonable moderate. But yeah it has been disgusting how moderate justices tend to drift left over time. And its also interesting to note that while some Republican appointments become "the swing vote" on many issues, the leftist ideologues on the court are never ever the swing vote. They rubber stamp the leftist agenda. It is their life...it is their religion.
A year from now, we will have affirmative action voting and open borders. And we won't have our guns.
ReplyDelete1. RIP Justice Scalia.
ReplyDelete2. Scalia's replacement must be carefully and methodically vetted. Republican voters are watching you, senators.

ReplyDeleteLooks like only 8justices on the court for the remainder of the session .
ReplyDeleteUS v. Texas immigration case could get compromised without Scalia.

ReplyDeleteBeware of moderate voices that are nominated. Another William O'Douglas.
