I can't imagine why

ILLINOIS LOSES MORE TOTAL POPULATION IN PAST YEAR THAN ANY OTHER STATE, as the rauner style of government kicks in

Suitcase
SPRINGFIELD - Illinois is in a steep population tailspin, census data shows - and there are multiple reasons why it's happening.
Illinois is in second place for the most people moving to other states in the past year. That’s according to estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau earlier this week. Domestic migration data from July of 2014 to July of 2015 has more than 105,200 people fleeing Illinois for other states. That exceeded the number of people coming to Illinois
from other countries, which was over 37,600.
The Land of Lincoln welcomed over 156,400 newborns but had over 104,200 deaths. When all factors are combined Illinois saw a total population loss of nearly 22,200 people over the past year, leading all other states that saw population declines. Meanwhile New York led the country with nearly 158,000 people leaving for other states in the past year.
With a second year in a row of large numbers of Illinois residents leaving the state, a political observer says Illinois will have a hard time pulling out a population tailspin.
Governor Bruce Rauner’s office said the data is another indication that shows Illinois needs to grow its economy and create jobs through structural reforms. House Speaker Michael Madigan Spokesman Steve Brown said the raw data offers no analysis and he didn’t feel confident in provided any reaction.
Paul Simon Public Policy Institute Director David Yepsen says weather is one contributing factor with people in retirement leaving for warmer climates and there’s a trend of people moving from more rural areas to more urban areas. Another major factor to outbound migration is the state’s business climate and growing financial uncertainty.
Yepsen says that Illinois’ uncertain fiscal picture is not attractive to businesses looking for growth or expansion and the prospect of increased taxes and spending cuts doesn’t add to the state’s charm.

If you are being at all honest, this trend has been happening for years now. Our state is completely uncompetitive for business attraction, and with it, jobs. Our unemployment rate is well above the national average, our taxes, especially Real Estate, are among the highest in the nation. Democrats controlling the IL House, the IL Senate, and the Governor mansion for a long time now are the chief culprits. Rauner has been in office hardly a year, and during that time the Madigan controlled legislature has refused to sit down and bargain on any main issue. They have chosen to run away. Therefore there is no budget in Illinois. The citizens of Illinois did not vote for Madigan. He gets in because, like the 19th Ward, his area is heavily Democrat, minority, Union, and govt workers, many of whom owe him their jobs. The entire State voted for Governor, and elected a Republican despite being a Democrat state normally. These are not normal times. There has not been even ONE budget YET based on what Rauner wants for the state. Tell Madigan and his cronies to get out from under the bed....go to Springfield...and do something they haven't had to do in years....it is called COMPROMISE. The same Democrats who want to blame Rauner for anything in Illinois after less than a year...are the same ones who are still making excuses for Obama...far after he had his four years and then re-elected and has served for seven years.

Off topic, just read that our esteemed US Secretary of State has written to his counterpart in Iran, that the new restrictions on visas to the United States imposed on countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria and others can be sidestepped in the case of Iran. Who the fuck do these people think they are? Congress enacted this legislation, the President signed it, and now the Democrats running the country figure they can just ignore the law. Hopefully, the Republicans will call them out on this, perhaps initiating sanctions on the authority of the US Secretary of State, none of whom feel compelled to be within the limits of the laws of this country. The whole lot of them should be tossed out on their ass and prosecuted.

Hey, don't blame Rauner 19th ward democrat, this is all on the democrats and Madigan and Cullerton. They had control of everything for 12 years now. Rauner is trying to straighten things out. Things have to change, and yes, some people will be hurt.
