A great reason why we need term limits.

8 years is long enough. Time to move on.

"As I stand here today, there's been no allegations of him testifying falsely in any other case or any other misconduct in other cases. But we are looking at all the cases he has handled," Alvarez said.

Fox News reported last Sept that Cook County's primary law enforcement official, the one that is supposed to protect us from crime and corruption, may herself have been receiving two homeowners exemptions.

Of course it wasn't her fault. It was her husband's fault. That bad guy. He was greedy, inadvertent, unintentional, self-centered and mistaken, all at the same time. Problem is that the real estate belonged to her too.

Do you want the details? Call her at her office at 312-603-8600. There are many questions to be answered.

This is just another example of how she runs things. Not very well.

If you ask me her act of multiple exemptions was worse than what that poor assistant did. Plus, she is applying a double standard to herself. She should fire herself.

No excuse for taking double exemptions, however, when the likes of Flynt Taylor and the Peoples Law Office start filing FOI requests of all the cases the states attorney in question prosecuted, all of those convicted can start demanding new trials, or have their cases tossed and all them mutts will be back on the street again. And her announcement of his firing and seeking charges against him might well be a pre-emptive strike against such a scenario. Add onto that the amount of punitive damages these parasites will be seeking and then you can make the evaluation of which acts were worse, hers or the states attorney that perjured himself.

Alvarez said she believes the allegations of perjury against a Cook County prosecutor are unprecedented, although she has brought charges against police for lying. In June, a Cook County grand jury indicted three Chicago Police officers and a Glenview officer on perjury charges for allegedly giving false testimony in a drug case. Dashboard video from a squad car allegedly contradicted their testimony.

“You have a duty, and you have an oath you have taken, and you cannot overstep the line,” Alvarez said.

Did her oath apply to the homeowners exemptions?

Most other government officials caught like that would throw themselves on their sword.

Why would ANYONE choose to work in the State's Attorney's Office under Ms. Alvarez?

I hope the field of candidates for the states attorneys office narrows, and Alvarez gets reelected by default.
Alvarez is counting on the other candidates to split the vote so she can slide by in the door.
Alvarez is the worst states attorney in Cook County history. Hope she loses.
