Former New York City mayor Rudy GIuliani penned an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal  on Sunday in which he conceded that the “bluntness” of his recent statements about President Barack Obama’s upbringing and patriotism may have been problematic.
The 70-year-old former presidential candidate has been under fire all week for saying he doesn’t believe Obama “loves America” during a private dinner for Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker last week. Later, in an interview with the New York Post, he suggested the president had been influenced by communists since he was 9 years old.
“I didn’t intend to question President Obama’s motives or the content of his heart,” Giuliani wrote. “My intended focus really was the effect his words and his actions have on the morale of the country, and how that effect may damage his performance.”
Giuliani goes on to say the president needs to start “acting and speaking in a way that draws sharp, clear distinctions between us and those who threaten our way of life,” while comparing him unfavorably to former presidents John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan.
Despite his attempts to clarify his remarks, the firestorm they created shows no signs of dying down. Giuliani’s remarks resurrected old charges that the president doesn’t sufficiently support American exceptionalism, and even questions about his religious affiliation.
Walker, who has refused to condemn or distance himself from Giuliani’s comments, told theWashington Post on Saturday that he “didn’t know” if the president was Christian. A staffer for the governor later said Walker does indeed know what Obama’s faith is and called the raising of the issue by the Post a “gotcha question.”
For his part, Giuliani had previously steadfastly refused to apologize for his remarks and when the New York Times suggested they could be perceived as racist the former mayor scoffed at the notion, pointing out that Obama “has a white mother.”
Still, it appears that the negative reaction took its toll. On Sunday, Giuliani told CNN’s Jim Acosta his office was receiving threatening calls in the wake of his criticisms of the president.

I wish Guilliani's personal life and medical challenges wouldn't have kept him out of the presidential race. His performance in office following 9/11 is something every politician should aspire to. The deal with Obama is while he tries to come off as "just plain folks", there's an elitist side of him that comes off as saying "I'm cool, but the country I represent isn't". In our house growing up, we didn't air our laundry in public. Our foreign policy under his administration is failing, our relations with Israel seem strained, and I don't think John Kerry, or Hillary Clinton before him, could negotiate themselves out of a paper bag. God help us all if the Republicans can't come up with a viable candidate.

His issue is more related to his hostility to Christianity and by extension American Catholic Christianity. His whole developmental profile has driven him in this direction and when trained by the a third generation Alinskyite that sealed the deal. Alinsky hated Catholic Christians in particular and cleverly duped the Church into giving him tons of money to destroy Catholic neighborhoods. THis process continued when Obama was running around Roseland and the Calumet region largely sponsored by our diocese and the Gary diocese. They play the social justice card very effectively and the only justice they seek is a radical take over by the far left. By the way they also duped the regular Democartic organization and that would take at least a book. So far the far left crowd is winning and we the people have are collective heads you know where. His success all started here in our Cook County back yard largely orchestrated by another Alinskyite who's hustling a book at present.

  3. President Obama is the very same puffed-up young man who learned at a very young age how to game the systems (educational, vocational and lastly political) that required 'something' from him. Like the very few bright, but powerfully lazy young people who took Honor English with me, Obama will do anything but the work required. He was passed along and sadly put upon the American voter, by people who should have known better, challenged his ambitions, or at the very least demanded some work from him. Obama got by everyone, because some of us passed him along.

"We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America," candidate Barack Hussein Obama said on Oct. 30, 2008, just before his election as our 44th president. Was it just rhetoric?

Many no doubt thought it was, chalking it up to boilerplate election-eve hot air. But now are we seeing — some would say tragically — what he meant.

Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani is being raked over the coals for saying he doesn't really believe the president loves America, and he probably didn't do himself or the Republican any favors by saying that. Democrats seem to be having a field day with his blunt remark.

But can the case be made? If you love something, do you seek to fundamentally transform it while endlessly summarizing its flaws?

This is the president, after all, who sat for two decades in the pews of Trinity United Church, where the Rev. Jeremiah Wright ranted that we should be saying not "God Bless America" but "God damn America" and that 9/11 was just one of America's chickens "coming home to roost."

Sometimes thinking about the cause and effect of things that might have been, I curse the Chicago Tribune for filing the lawsuit to have Jack Ryan's divorce proceedings unsealed. Had that not happened, Ryan would have been in the race for Senate, Allan Keyes would have carpetbagged himself into some other jurisdiction and Obama would be fighting for his state senate seat. Maybe we should scold Jack Ryan for being such a naughty boy with his hot wife Jeri.

I love how the Democrats go after a Republican like Rudy! All the so called news robots are asking all the other Republicans about him. It's funny like Rush said today about why no one ever asks Hillary why Bill is going all over the word with a known pedophile or why Joe Biden gets a free pass every time he opens his mouth. Rudy is just saying what a lot of people have been thinking for a long time.
Obama hates this Country but is not enough of a man to admit it.

Every time they show the video of the Benghazi hearings and Hillary is up there saying "what difference does it make" in reference to the understaffed mission outpost, I think of what it would feel like if it was my kid stuck in there, with CIA assistance nearby and them being told to stand down while the outpost is being over run, and US personnel are being murdered and dragged through the street. Its so obvious that this woman has put herself so far above everyone else. The arrogance and disdain she shows or rather, tries to hide, tells me this ruthless, money grabbing, power hungry bitch has no place in public life. The Vincent Foster suicide followed a verbal dress down Hillary gave him in front of other staff members. And now, trying to maneuver her way to the front of the pack for 2016, she claims she's ready to answer the Congressional committee's questions on Benghazi. Seems to me she had her chance, on nationwide television no less. Screw her. God, please let the republicans come up with someone for 2016.

Every time I hear Obama use the word "folks" it makes me want to puke. I think we should take this opportunity to explain WHY we believe he has a hard time complimenting the US. His Grandparents were very active radically left people. His mother was a very radical, atheist and leftist. He did spend a lot of time around Communists and Sociast leftists. He admitted as much in one of his two autobiographies about himself. (Narcissist). Frank Marshall Davis was part of his adolescent life because his Grand Parents thought he would benefit from having a black role model. (His Mom basically abandoned him and of course his Bio Dad left him early on as well.) Davis was an above ground Communist. Also wrote gay porno books and was a pornographer. (All this in the 50's and 60's!!). Obama is a follower of Alinsky - a communist "community organizer". He began his political career in the Living Room of Bill Ayers - Communist leftist hippy accused of bombing a police station. Known leftist. Hmmm Communists, Socialists, radicals, terrorists....all surrounding this guy through his entire life. Hmmm. My Dad used to say "show me your friends and I'll show you who you are".
