RHOADS: TRIBUNE POLL INTERNALS MATTER MORE
It is not the headline of the Tribune poll that should worry the handlers of Bruce Rauner because horse race numbers change all the time and Quinn did outspend Rauner by almost two to one on Chicago media during August in an effort to play catch up.
But what should worry the Rauner camp is the fact that the internals of the Tribune poll indicate that "voters view the governor as more trustworthy than his opponent." You usually only get one chance to make a first impression and even if voters think Quinn is a failure in most ways, if they nevertheless think he can be trusted more than Rauner then Rauner has a major problem that is tough to correct by Nov. 4th.
In spite of Bruce Rauner's personal wealth and business success, he is still running for office for the first time and is making some of the familiar mistakes that first-time candidates often make. One of those mistakes is to follow the advice of handlers who think tailoring positions to polling data and forgetting about any enduring principles is a winning strategy. It is not, and the Tribuneinternals on the trust problem for Rauner confirm that.
The race is over.
ReplyDeletekeep telling yourself that!
Deleteoutlier poll, custom crafted from 2012 Obama race demo,
needed for Quinn fund raising purposes..
only simple minded people will vote for Quinn again
You mean four more of numb nuts Quinn?
DeleteDo you really. Think it's over.
DeleteQuinn is a Thief, Criminal, and all-round phoney Snake-in-the Grass, soon to be indicted by the U.S. Attorneys Office. He and his fellow phoney, Dickless Durbin, are the reason Illinoisans are fleeing the State by the thousands, the State's Credit Rating down the tubes, unemployment worst in the U.S., Entitlement Spending out of Control, unbalanced budget, people all over Illinois losing their jobs AND Healthcare, Illinois Taxes Quadrupling, and on and on, while these two Letches whistle in the Wind. Can't wait for the day us Illinoisans see them both in Federal Prison, along with criminals Rahm and madigan.
DeleteTribune Readers?............Need I say more, Komrade?
ReplyDeleteThe Tribune is too liberal for this guy? You are so far right that ... well, the tribune is a communist newspaper. Ha!

ReplyDeletethe irish are the same weasels as the Jooz...
DeleteQuinn and Madigan are the guys that put forth the legislation to take away pensioners off of their CPD CFD and teachers benefits and placed them onto Obama care
ReplyDeleteI cant understand this knuckled nut Quinn ... why would anyone seriously consider that somehow he is good for Illinois?
Here's a question. In some of Pat Quinn's ads, he talks about Rauner's wealth like its something to be ashamed of. The inference is that he did something illegal by taking advantage of tax laws that favored him. If there's something wrong with the existing laws and statutes that pertain to deductions, or if Rauner broke some law to avoid taxes, wouldn't it be up to the existing governor, state legislature, attorney general or federal government agencies to either change the laws or prosecute him. If that's the case, then those seeking re-election for those offices haven't been doing their job and should explain why they should be re-elected.
ReplyDeleteyes. It proves nothing, other than Class Envy, of a man who has worked hard all his life, take business risks, ran successful businesses, given lots of people jobs so they could buy homes, raise families, etc; smart enough to take advantage of LEGAL Tax Loopholes, just like QUINN AND DURBIN DO, except that Quinn and Durbin never held a legit job other than political -Hack positions.
DeleteA poor man NEVER gave another Man a Job....
Rauner is a total jag . . .that said, HE IS NOT PAT QUINN.
ReplyDeleteRauner never had a coherent message. Vote third party -- any third party.
