State Rep Fran Hurley

We certainly don't agree with her on some of the issues but this is a woman with a good story to tell. For some reason it has not been told. In the past, she may have been treated unfairly on this blog. That is ending.

Where does she stand on the current border crisis?

Hundreds of these illegals have already made their way to Illinois.

What is her story? And why hasn't she told it? I received several glossy mailers from her where she told me she was against child molesters and she is pro police and similar tough stances. She had plenty of opportunities to tell her story. In my view everyone has a story in that everyone faces their own unique set of challenges daily. From having met her prior to becoming a State Rep I found her to be stridently liberal. Also she made some very uncharitable remarks to me about people such as Anne Scheible. At the time I met and spoke with her I never thought in a million years that she would be a State Representative. So I am sorry if I do not agree with this post. I also find her pro abortion stance to be disgusting to me. Am I being unfair if I find her knee jerk liberal views offensive and if I believe that her qualifications were sub par? Maybe I just need to move out of the neighborhood I grew up in. Maybe I no longer share "our values" as Rahm has spoken about. Fran sure does not share my values.

    1. I do not agree with her politics at all. I am merely saying that she has quite an incredible story that should be told. It is a testament to her character.

Point well taken and I know that is the spirit with which you wrote this post.

Fran has become the leading voice in the House for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has been a great friend to Special Olympics.

That's wonderful, she's a great advocate for one special interest group.

But she also has to represent the rest of the people in the district. From what I've seen, she's out in front on the "feel-good" issues that no one can oppose (special olympics, child abuse, etc), but she has to represent us on the bread and butter issues as well (pensions, healthcare, immigration, abortion, etc). She never puts her positions on these latter issues in her glossy handouts

She is truly a nice lady, but so was Mata Hari. Publish her voting record. Does she support the opinions, beliefs, ethics and morals of the majority of those who put her in office? If yes run her for president. If no, well she is still a nice lady.

You have to be kidding me. She is a big reason why I will vote straight Republican. Now let's hear the story.
