Our Next Mayor, BUMPED UP

DONE DEAL
The Daley's have decided to run Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle for mayor next year. The reasons are multiple but start off with Rahm being rammed down their throats and the way he unnecessarily insulted Mayor Daley at the inaugural. Combine that with Rahm terminating Daley inspired contracts, the loss of patronage jobs, etc., and you have an incumbent that is intolerable.

Preckwinkle is the choice mainly because she can be controlled. An added benefit is that her election will open up the presidency of Cook County for the nicest guy in politics, John Daley.

Tom Dart was also in the running but shot himself in the foot by constantly promoting himself  by being on TV talking about puppies, corruption in Harvey and John Wayne Gacy. All of it is nonsense when considering the out of control violence in Chicago, for which he has remained silent.  The thinking is that perhaps he is not stable enough for the 5th floor, at this time. Preckwinkle's term will be last four years (when she will be 72). Dart may be reconsidered then but being named to the appellate court before that may be a better ending for him.

The battle is being spearheaded by the Chicago Tribune with their biweekly negative reports about Rahm. After Labor Day, expect a full frontal assault. Rahm, knowing he is outgunned and not able to afford a loss, may decide to just take that offer of Ambassador to wherever they have a quick flight.

This woman told a group of eggheads at the Uof I that Ronald Reagan deserves "a special place in hell" for his war on drugs. She knows more than anyone that thousands upon thousands of illegal alien criminals are running drugs here and elsewhere. She is dangerous.

If Preckwinkle becomes mayor can I get the streetlight thats been out and called in several times repaired on 105th and Lawndale? How about getting the police to my house quicker than 40 minutes after I call about a guy wandering my yard and trying the door at 4:30 A.M.

I recall the last time Dart was being touted for the Mayor's spot and begged off because campaigning would take too much time away from his family. Frankly, I haven't seen that he honored the oath he took to be sheriff. Rather, he refused to enforce eviction notices, he sought to have himself appointed as the arbitrator of conceal carry applications, he had time to go on the radio to brag how he screws with employees of the sheriff's department by sending them to work in locations as far from their homes as possible (I think that one is still on YouTube), he asks arrested and housed he/she's which gender they prefer to be housed with, he digs up and wants to do DNA testing on indigent burials, the puppy mills, the rehabilitation of whores, and the endless appearances in the papers and television with that Mt. Carmel fleece thing. Hey, I don't make 100K but at least I still wear a suit to work. Oh yeah, he complains about the inadequacies at the jail and blames the former sheriff for all the things that he is unwilling or unable to do to satisfy the responsibilities of his office. In my book he's nothing but a publicity seeking whiner, who' has been handed several elected spots and thinks nothing of biting the hand that's fed him for more than 20 years. If this piece of work ever runs for Mayor, and by some queer twist of fate got elected (and I'm sure a lot of queers would vote for him), the house goes up for sale. For the life of me I cannot think of one thing that this man has done for any living taxpayer in Cook County. And I don't count overseeing capital projects in Robbins, processing rape kits in Harvey or digging up paupers in Glenwood. There, Im done.

That is just not true on eviction orders. He was the first to prevent these banks from evicting homeowners and tenants while the legal process was still taking place. In fact, I admire him for it.

Yeah, allowing tenants to occupy someone else's property rent free is a noble cause. Wait a second, what? Oh no, that's socialism. So yeah, he's a socialist

Dart has slandered Sheahan all over town. Sheahan s only crime? He is a macho man. The real thing. He is not a great pretender like Dart.

What Dart did to Sheahan people is unforgivable. He harassed all of Sheahans CPD hires until they quit. This is how he treated experienced police.

I would rather see Tom Dart run. I may still live in Cook County by the time of the election, but I may be out of Chicago (Mt. Greenwood) by then. Nevertheless, I think Chicago has enormous challenges. It will probably have to file for bankruptcy. I would rather see a good guy in office than anyone else.

Just my simple opinion from a very simple person.

... Good luck (you'll need it).

    2. Anonymous6/02/2014

Personally, I don't regard Tom Dart as a good guy. He is not a bad guy but he is not a good guy. A good guy is someone you can trust. His word is good. That's just not the case with Tommy Dart. He is just a typical politician. Goes with the wind. Stands for nothing. Says nothing. He is very adept at avoiding a solid position.

These fool Democrats have gone off the deep end. She is another fake who will use them to get power....and then give that power to people of (her) color. The local Dems are truly turning into complete turncoats and sellouts to our Ward. I can barely stand to look at any of them. I have always loved Chicago...and the 19th Ward....houses on Longwood Dr, Western bars, Ridge Run, parades, softball at Kennedy Pk, Reds Hot Dogs, Grants Wonder Burger. But I am starting to feel like I do not belong here anymore...I feel like I am taking crazy pills....or better yet...or rather our Proud Union Homes are on crazy pills. One strong meeting of the unions in this city putting their collective foot down against these tradition hating, weird beard hippy lefties....and it would end. But instead the P U Homes are selling their heritage for a little security. I have no respect for them anymore.....None.

My father was a union man. It was back when it meant something.

Now, they have nothing to be proud of. In fact, they should hang their heads in shame. They have forgotten and even sabotaged what their fathers and grandfathers stood for.

They too have been co-opted for some time now by starry eyed (crazy rabid) leftists who HATE, I mean HATE free market capitalism. But when I see guys I knew growing up making excuses, and even starting to agree with these lunatics, that tells me all they really care about is the almighty dollar. And regarding teachers, can you all PLEASE shut the he** up for awhile. You just got sixteen percent and all you do is complain...you say you are so educated and deserve more money. But in the next breath you say you cant teach these inner city kids. If that is true....as you say....then why should we pay you more money. Lets get some babysitter ex military for 30 percent less. You can go out into the private sector. Or as I like to call it "the real world" where you can work 11 and 1/2 months of the year like the vast majority of us do.

What kills me about the union people of today....they only care about themselves....they all use non union guys for side jobs (scabs?) when it suits them...they don't mind going to KMart, Walmart, Target, Cosco, Menards, etc... on a Sunday at 8:45 PM to shop for crap brought in from China and make the lowly workers wait on them hand and foot.

Hey, I bought a Hunter ceiling fan at Menards the other day, runs smooth and quiet. Want folks to buy American and union made, make something that works well and is affordable. Saw a guy driving a Camaro the other day. Nice car I said, how much did it run you? About $42,000 and change. Yeah, buy domestic and union made...and spend 6 years paying for it until it gets recalled.

You missed the point of this post. It is not whether or not the unions make good products, it is that the union MEMBERS are hypocrites. They want a union for THEMSELVES but don't give a d*mn about any of their "Working Family" neighbors. And you cant buy a Camaro at Walmart. I was talking about a lot of other stuff made in China. And don't rap the American Worker in your post unfairly. These Chinese products are often very defective but are allowed into our country without the same degree of inspection and regulation our own home grown companies must face. The game is rigged against our own country and the people. P.S. google dog food deaths from China....just this year....(the media just sweeps it under the rug)....but you can still smell it.

Domestic cars are much cheaper than most foreign cars by type....plus the repair parts are very expensive. I know the cult of the Japanese cars is something you get indoctrinated by, but I had a friend who bought a new Honda Accord and the engine blew within 90 days of taking delivery. But those people don't want to bitch as loudly because it will show that they were conned. The point is that Union Members are only out for themselves. Period ! But they want YOU to sympathize with them. Union members are paid ABOVE the median income of most workers, especially in Chicago...and like the Govt union employees these people have the nerve to BITCH the loudest. My union job is important....yours I could care less.

I did not see ed maloney or rose bilecki, the sun has finally set on them.

the food from the local vendors was very good.the wine was even better.

ald. o'shea gave a great speech. he is truly a gift to our neighborhood.

JERRY JOYCE saved this neighborhood back in the 70s.

The Joyces still run the 19th ward but its like having a Roger Penske winning Indy 500, 900 HP V-8 and not having a car to put it in. Some day the Irish Catholic Democratic Conservative wing of the party will come back from near extinction. You remember when the Conservative democrats were thrown out of the 1972 Democratic Convention and the convention was taken over by the new leftists, Ald Bill Singer and Jesse Jackson. They nominated Karl Marx's favorite candidate, George McGovern who won is own state and no other state in electoral votes. Nothing like reinventing the wheel so it looks like a square?

By then it ill be Kevin Joyces Great Grand Children that run the ward. The national debt will have imploded the economy. As George Patton said at the end of the movie "I'm glad I won't be around for it"

Preckwinkle for mayor and JD for CC President. Hmmm, consistent with the tradition of power brokering in Chicago/CC. Remember the commonwealth is never important with these people and all that matters is personal wealth for me and mine. .
