CATHOLIC CITIZENS CALL ON CHICAGO FAITHFUL TO BOYCOTT KUMA'S OVER BURGER BLASPHEMY
CHICAGO - The Board of Directors of the Catholic Citizens of Illinois announced Tuesday they are urging Catholics to boycott Kuma's Corner, objecting to the restaurant's October hamburger "Ghost."
The restaurant is being criticized for featuring a $17.00 gourmet hamburger, garnished with an unconsecrated host and a red wine sauce, because red wine and wafers are used by Christians to represent Christ's blood and body during communion.
"Ghost" burger is named after a Swedish heavy metal band now touring the country that wear religious attire and skeleton makeup. Kuma's names its hamburgers after heavy metal bands and often plays loud heavy metal music, and the owners are Ghost fans.
"We would call upon people of faith who are offended by this blasphemous promotion to contact Kuma's Corner," the Catholic group said in a statement.
The group also suggested contacting Mayor Rahm Emanuel. "Remembering Mr. Emanuel's words during the Chic-fil-A's recent controversy - 'Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicago values,' are Kuma's values Chicago values?"
I don't understand why everyone is being so passive about this. It is clearly a hate crime. Take a stand now or else wish you did, five years from now.
Keep in mind that the corporation which controls this joint, failed to pay their annual renewal to the Sec of State and is thus illegally operating, as is their liquor license.
why even bother giving the heathen establishment free pub. you know that if they had a burger deemed anti-Semitic then mayor ballerina would surely shut the place down
