Draft Dart for Governor?

Reading all of the emails from the last 24 hours, there seems to be a movement developing to get Tom Dart to run for governor against Quinn. With Daley out, the path is pretty clear.

I'd much rather see him as governor than sheriff.

What movement are you speaking of because all the newspapers don't even mention him. NBC mentions Preckwinkle, Giannoulias, and Madigan again. However, in the Sheriff's office we would love to see him go.

They are probably just stroking his ego making him think he can win to get him out as Sheriff. Hopefully the 'Narcissist' bites!

I truly hope so....not because I want Dart to be Governor, but because he has enough of a patronage army to create a big fight within the DemocRAT party which could help us get rid of the monolithic rule of Democrats in Illinois and with it their anti-business, anti-competition general attitude and with it the punitive taxes, spending, and regulations that have strangled out states economy. MAYBE a Republican could get a chance to get in the game and change the direction of our state which is failing by almost every objective measure....unemployment, credit worthiness, overall debt, on and on and on....Governor Dart? would be more of the same...with the Chicago Way directing the entire state...

I have no doubt that one day, Dart will be mayor governor or president.

Mayyyyybeeeeee he could become Mayor.....Governor? very doubtful.....President? Not a chance...either you are a koolaid drinker, a sycophant or both. He has become sillier and sillier as Sheriff. He comes across as very shin skinned, sarcastic, and flippant when you hear him speak on tv or on radio programs. Also, he comes across as a bit sophomoric. Oddly, one on one, he seems much more sober minded and comfortable in his own skin.

I respect him. He, as a Sheriff, took on the banks, took on the lien holders whether Fannie, Freddie or otherwise, for Justice. Frankly, on this basis alone, while others paid lip service to holding the banks accountable, he commands my respect. He not only required that hearings be heard; he prevented abuse and the denial of rights in the fraudclosures. He took on, and takes on, the most powerful of the powerful. Someone said President ... I hope so.

The similarities between Dart and his rival Dan Hynes are startling.
