Daley lecturing Cardinal George?


DALEY PRESSURES CARDINAL GEORGE TO REVERSE STANCE ON GAY MARRIAGE

Bill_daley_regents_colorCHICAGO - Democrat gubernatorial hopeful Bill Daley has made public a letter he wrote to Chicago's Cardinal Francis George last week, pushing the Catholic Church to continue funding the Illinois Coalition on Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR) despite the group's public support for gay marriage, directly opposed to the Church's teachings.
Th-5While the Church and ICIRR both support comprehensive immigration reform, they differ on same sex marriage and Cardinal George has been an outspoken advocate for traditional marriage during the heat of Illinois' controversy this spring. Daley wrote: 
I am writing you today to urge you and the Archdiocese not to cut off funding to critical anti-poverty programs over a completely unrelated issue. As someone who believes that all people should be treated with dignity and respect, a value I learned in my Catholic upbringing, I am a strong supporter of both marriage equality and immigration reform. I believe we can respect religious freedom, including the freedom of the Catholic Church to have its own views of marriage, while still allowing all people to be treated equally when they go to the county clerk’s office for a marriage license.
But my view on marriage equality and those of immigrant aid groups who have similar views really are irrelevant to our collective duty to help those who are less fortunate. As a Catholic, I have always been proud of my church’s commitment to social justice. Through Catholic Charities, the St. Vincent de Paul Society and other programs, my family and thousands of other Catholics in Illinois have helped  our brothers and sisters in need.
But ICIRR has historically linked arms with some of the most leftist groups in Chicago over the years, as a 2000 flyer circulated by Joliet area journalist Rey Flores shows:

    His candidacy is D.O.A. I do not even understand where this idea of running him came from. He will not get downstate votes....they are smart enough to see, hear....and smell the corruption up north in Chicago. While the Proud Uniion Homes still worship at the Daley altar it is becoming more apparent with time that Rich Daley the Little....was a poor steward of our money and our cities resources....(google Chicago Parking Meter deal just to name one). It is clear to many except those Unions who benefitted by having a stooge in the Mayors seat.

    It is too bad Richard J. Daly didn't have a same sex marriage. Chicago wouldn't be broke now and we wouldn't have to worry about this cone head being governor.

    If Daley believes so passionately in this cause, he should publicly appeal to fellow liberals to reach deep into their own pockets to fully support the ICIRR.

    Liberals are very generous with other people's money.

    ICIRR ia rogue organization run by an Obama buddy named Hoyt who was trained by a clown named Chambers who was trained by Alinsky and his Industrial Areas Foundation. This is all apart of a concerted effort to move the Democratic party to the far left and sadly these con artists have duped local democrats and now brother Billy. The ole man is rolling in his grave.
    Daley the senior hated Alinsky. Hoyt a buddy of Obama, and Ayers. A reputable scholar named Fonte documents this madness.

    I didn't see Bill raise a stink when the State cut off funding for books for parochial school children. So the state buys books for the masses as long as you aren't Catholic. And, by the way, didn't this guy just make a ton selling our public parking spaces. When is enough enough. He is a phony!

    Bill needs to recall Chicago History and the role organizations like ICIRR have played to undermine the traditional values of Chicagoans. The real leader of ICIRR Hoyt is a personal friend of Obama,Ayers and Klonsky and the last two former SDS Weatherman. This cabal has effectively hijacked the Democratic Party in Chicago and made Chicago the laughing stock in these United States and the ding a lings in out ward fall right into the trap. Same sex marriage give me a break with over 90% of the constituents trained by religious orders! Please boys and girls get a grip and give the community back family values. Hoyt's mentor ran the Organization of the Southside back in the 60's that effectively ruined Brainerd and Gresham or for you Catholics Kilians,Ethelreda, LF,
    Leo etc. You see they use bleeding heart tactics to con folks first AA's next Hispano's,and now gays.
