Can you imagine how great America could be?

JOE WALSH: MY OWN DREAM FOR AMERICA

MartinLuther_020713_SB_tif_
By Joe Walsh -
Today marks the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s iconic “I Have a Dream” speech during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you should know that today is the anniversary, as over the last week, every columnist, pundit and cable news host has been emphatically asking if Dr. King’s dream has been realized.
Of all the commentators who have been asking whether King’s dream has been achieved, FOX News’ Juan Williams seems to be the only one with whom I agree. When asked by Chris Wallace if the dream has been fulfilled, Williams noted that there isn’t, “any question that [African Americans] have come along way,” before importantly pointing out that blacks have to address the problems that are created within their communities. “I think that if you look at the realities of today, you’ve got to talk about things like family breakdown,” Williams said. “You’ve got to talk about the fact that 70 percent of black children today are born out of wedlock. I think Dr. King would cry.”
I agree with Juan, but instead of invoking King’s legacy to lament about present problems I’ve decided to share my own dream. (below)
I have a dream that all black parents will have the right to choose where their kids attend school.
I have a dream that all black boys and girls will grow up with a father.
I have a dream that young black men will stop shooting other young black men.
I have a dream that all young black men will say "no" to gangs and to drugs.
I have a dream that all black young people will graduate from high school.
I have a dream that young black men won’t become fathers until after they’re married and they have a job.
I have a dream that young unmarried black women will say "no" to young black men who want to have sex.
I have a dream that today’s black leadership will quit blaming racism and “the system” for what ails black America.
I have a dream that black America will take responsibility for improving their own lives.
I have a dream that one day black America will cease their dependency on the government plantation, which has enslaved them to lives of poverty, and instead depend on themselves, their families, their churches, and their communities.

Blacks have made great progress during the past 50 years but much of it is just window dressing. Many of them have achieved not on their own, but with government assistance and policies such as affirmative action. Let's end those programs and let the blacks be all they can be. Let's give them their economic rights. Then and only then will they be truly welcomed into American society.

The govt will have to punish itself because it too is responsible for the economic collapse by pressuring banks to make loans to people who had doubtful credit at best and who were screaming default. Banks were bullied by government to make these loans to achieve higher home ownership rates...And in case you start complaining, it began under CLINTON....but continued under BUSH...with the DemocRAT and RepubliCON Congresses beating the drums. Now the government is prolonging the jobless "recovery" by allowing longer and longer unemployment benefits, seeking out and advertising for more people to get welfare, recruiting illegals and spending the taxPAYERS money teaching illegals to obtain benefits (ie taxes) paid for by the middle class. Thatcher "the problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other peoples money".

I have a dream....that one day I will not be working at a minimum wage job. I still have a dream. Many do not ...or their dreams are just for an easy life. MLK wanted equality of opportunity. I have a dream that one day my college aged kids can get a job at all. I have a dream, or is it more of a distant memory, of not too long ago, when teenagers could get jobs if they wanted them....I have a dream/memory that what we used to call "jobs" were actually 40 hours a week. Not part time. I have a dream, that Obama worshippers will come to realize that when Bush was President they blamed him....now when things are arguably worse for more people (especially blacks), we will stop blaming "corporate America".

MLK was pro-life. "The Reverend" Jesse Jackson was also pro-life....until he decided to run for Pres. and then he converted to his new religion.....The Democratic Party. Both men realized that abortion is a form of genocide....especially when you see the ratio of black abortions as it relates to their percentage of the population.....

I have had a form of this discussion with my Proud Union Home Democrats from the 19th Ward who still think the Democrat Party is on their side. I bring up abortion and how heinous a crime against humanity it truly is...and how strongly it has always been opposed by Western(civilized) society...especially our Irish Catholic Heritage....I get some hemming and hawing...then sheepishly they mumble something about ...."well its mostly blacks so I don't really care." I have had this conversation numerous times. They are such chicken sh*ts for their little protected government job that they are willing to throw away generations of hardship and toil of which our ancestors fought and paid for....just for a "decent pension". To whom much has been given, much is expected. Unfortunately our current generation stood up "not much" for anything other than their own paycheck and a nice health care package. You make me sick.
