U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski is set to mark the nation’s Flag Day by joining in support of a constitutional amendment aimed at banning flag burning, according to his office.
Lipinski (D-3rd) and U.S. Rep. Spencer Bachus, an Alabama Republican, are introducing the proposal, according to a news release from his office. If approved in Congress and later ratified by three-fourths of state legislatures across the country, the amendment would not prohibit flag desecration but would allow lawmakers the power to do so.
Lipinski is no different than any other Democratic elected Illinois official. The party only selects geldings to lead the sheep herd to slaughter.
ReplyDeleteLeave this guy alone. He is the only local democrat that votes pro life and pro marriage. I can think of better constitutional issues to work on, but, he unlike the other putzes we have is not a follower.
ReplyDeleteLipinski has some of the highest moral standards of our local pols. That's a good start. Now if we can only get him to use his brains to come up with innovative answers for complex problems.
DeleteBecause college degrees do not make you smart... He was handed this seat by his corrupt father. This IDIOT is just that, an IDIOT!
ReplyDeleteFrom that picture one might believe he is unbalanced.
ReplyDeleteThis is cutting edge subject matter back in 1988
ReplyDeleteLipinski is one of the worst members of Congress. A "blue-dog Democrat," he annoys both liberals and conservatives. He ascended to Congress in such an underhanded way.
ReplyDeleteMurph actually said "some of the high moral standards"; he does not know Lipinski. As with Lindsay Graham, I cannot confidently state he is human.
In the unlikely event that Dan can read, take note of this: do not waste my money that I spend in taxes on these silly issues. Anonymous 15-JUN-2013, I thought nearly the same exact thing: issue in the 1980s. He really reaches to the lowest common denominator.
Spoken like a true liberal. Does your last name begin with a W. All your fellow liberal democrats bankrupted the pensions and are now trying to bury labor with their misdeeds. Can't say that about Lipinski the true blue dog democrat who is unlike 19th ward demi-rats.
ReplyDeleteIt would be hilarious if the far right were more than three people and organized enough to "primary" him. Keep in mind that Det. Shvd both dislike Lipinksi. I told you he annoys the left and right (and center).
DeleteIt is Art. XIII, Sec. 5 of the Illinois Const. that establishes that "the benefits" of public employee pensions "shall not be diminished or impaired"? At least $100 billion unfunded. I do not even know what the deficit is each year of the top of my head: $20 billion or so?
Now if you want to use the B word, let's use it. But let's be serious about Chapter 9. Many municipalities have used Chapter 9. Can the credit rating of Illinois suffer more as a result of a BK? We cannot increase taxes more, as prior increases were used to pay old bills.
A nice man who had the misfortune to be William Lipinski's son.
ReplyDeleteYes, his dad played King and gave him his congressman's job. I wish I had his "luck".
DeleteYES ...THIS WAS THE GUY THAT WAS LOOKING UNDER THE STALL PARTITION WHILE I WAS IN THEIR GOING TO THE BATHROOM,GRINNING LIKE THAT TO...SHOCKING SHOCKING
