Important announcement from Alderman O'Shea

Effective April 15th, all garbage collection in the 19th Ward will occur on Mondays and Tuesdays. This change is part of a citywide shift to a grid based garbage collection service. By altering the way the City collects garbage, the Department of Streets and Sanitation will increase efficiency and deliver millions of dollars of cost savings to the taxpayers.

Monday Collection

All homes west of Western Ave.

99th St. to 107th St., Longwood Dr. to Western Ave.

All homes south of 107th St.

Tuesday Collection

All homes north of 99th St.

99th St. - 107th St. east of Longwood Dr.

This is not good news. I don't like Tuesdays to begin with.

No, not Friday for north of 99th Street. It states that homes north of 99th Street have pickup on Tuesday.

    2. What? Must our aldermen and women look like models? Like ESPN anchors? Action stars? What? I will take O'Shea and his performance in our ward thus far -- damn his wardrobe.

Um, you wait until Tuesday if your day is Monday and Monday is a holiday. The worst that could happen is that it would take until Wednesday. For years a significant segment of the city had Monday pickup, and they just get their garbage picked up a day or two later.

Murph, not only should the comments of the screaming CAPITALIZER be removed, but that person should be banned. Many blogs and facebook pages have a "three strikes and your out" policy. I notice that you've never said that, but please consider it. These are your own words, though:

"Write whatever you want about whomever you want, just keep it relevant and true. Try not to hurt anyone's feelings. Keep in mind that public service can be a thankless job, they don't need unnecessary criticism here. I will not publish threats of physical violence or baseless attacks on people or institutions."

Thank you for your incoherent post, with bad punctuation and capitalization. I had to read it several times to make sense of it. Perhaps if you descended from Irish, who speak and write English well, you would have produced a comment that we can understand.
