I got to believe that this deal is on the up and up.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration on Friday chose Integrys Energy Services to serve as the lone supplier of electricity to 2.7 million Chicago customers and projected an initial savings of up to 25 percent.
The mayor chose to replace one monopoly, Commonwealth Edison, with another because Integrys offered the “lowest price margin,” the city said, projecting that the average Chicago household would save $25 or “20-to-25 percent” from February through June.
MEMO to Alderman O'Shea, that 3 story building at 111 and Kedzie has a piece of metal flashing flapping in the wind. I'm afraid it could fall and hit somebody in the head. Thank You
ReplyDeleteDid you report this potential danger to the ward office?
ReplyDeleteHedont have to. he reported it here.
Delete"Hedont have to." Nice.
DeleteThis is not where people report problems. Anyone who is serious about filing a complaint would not "report" it here. Use the right forum for concerns if you really want to make a problem known. That person hasn't reported anything yet.
I would bet that the above poster is from the 19 th Ward Office. Does it really matter where a problem is reported? Keep in mind that more than a few people are hesitant to call the 19th because of prior experiences with some of the staff that worked for the previous alderperson. At least here, they won't be called an a------ or their message won't be tossed into the trash.
DeleteI am not saying that is the current practice and will admit that contacting the ward office is a more efficient way of reporting a problem. So what does it matter how a safety hazzard is reported? Fact is, the 19th reads this blog all day long, they know everything going on in the ward (as they should) and they have actual notice of a problem.
The bloger should post all of the 19th's contact info.
whose complainin
DeleteWhat ever amount of time it took to get Foxs power running last summer with the new company you can multiply it by 3.
ReplyDeleteI don't think theres any problems with the way OShea runs is office.
ReplyDeleteI agree. an alderman or ward committeeman is just a figurehead these days. Long gone are the days of vending power and favors from the throne or thrones of the alderman or ward committeeman office. The 19th ward doesn't even have people assigned to the precincts who manage the poll sheet, register new residents to vote , get absentees for college and military kids.
DeleteThe handful that may exist these days only show up on election day, then they bitch at the judges because they feel that they don't count the vote fast enough.
Sorry but this is not the correct place to "report" a problem....call the ward or the city of chicago....or even call the 22nd station on a non emergency line....you could also try BAPA who will respond .....just sayin.... a blog is not the place to "report" anything to any authority....
ReplyDeletePeople dont want to be called assholes when they call with a legit complaint or problem. This has been known to happen on a very frequent basis.
DeleteIf the authorities are reading the blog like they are this one, then it must be ok to report it here too.
ReplyDeleteProvide specifics about who was called an a**hole, when, and by whom? A person above stated that people were not treated well by FORMER ward office staff who worked under a PREVIOUS alderman. If that's true, maybe there is a reason those people no longer work there. In any case, it is unreasonable to come to this blog to "report" an issue. It absolutely does matter where you report something. Complaining or venting isn't the same as reporting. If I look out my window and observe someone stealing a car, or someone who appears to be casing a neighbor's house, I'd be an idiot to come on here and "report" it rather than calling the police. To use the logic in a previous comment, I've done my due diligence because there is likely a police officer reading this. I wouldn't come on here to report a power outage in my home either. I'd call Com Ed. Use your head.
