Walmart throws Thanksgiving under the bus.

Walmart has announced that they intend to open their stores at 8 PM on Thanksgiving evening in order to maximize profits. Do you think they have gone too far?

Unfortunately another holiday hijacked. Christmas, which used to be a religious holiday in observance of the birth of CHRIST, is now probably more about gift giving and spending time with family than it is about attending Church on a HOLY day. In a similar kind of way Thanksgiving, which used to be about giving thanks and spending time with family, will now be about a quick thansgiving lunch, moved earlier from dinner so that you can now go out and shop. Dont get me wrong, if you had to sit at a table with my inlaws you'd probably wanna get the hell outta there too but its sad still

Thanks to Mr. Obama, the American economy is in the toilet. Walmart is where we shop now. Prices at Jewel and Dominick's are through the roof. No, I won't criticize Walmart for opening on Thanksgiving.

  3. Way too far. How much money can one company need? "Market" enthusiasts will say, with some justification, that if people come Wal-Mart can justify it. People probably will come, too -- pathetic. Support the boycott and demonstrations.

Walmart in E.P. is a pit. Went in there once, have never been back.
Anyone shopping at Walmart on Thanksgiving doesn't give a rats ass about celebrating holidays. Just another sign of the times, the loss of values, of right from wrong.
The Baby Boomer generations have cashed in on commercialism, discarding idealism for a progressive path.
Our society is swirling down the drain.

Yes - I do. I loved Thanksgiving because it was about good food and good company. Now it is turned into another shopping holiday.

Can't we have just one holiday where we eat, drink, and be merry? Eat, drink, be merry, then rush out to get a deal on junk.

Whats the big deal. Walmart is closing at 3 PM on Thanksgiving. Beginning at 3pm, lines will form (people that ate earlier) to get back into the store at 8 pm. This is going to work out really nice.
