Steep fines sought to keep ‘idiots’ from S. Side Irish Parade - Chicago Sun-Times

O'Shea
Probably a pretty good idea. Whatever it takes to protect the parade.

Let me get this straight....we will block off streets on Halloween, have block captains to make sure lil black kids don't trick or treat past 7pm, and increase fines through an ordinance to make sure no one takes a leak within 200 feet of a parade to deter drunkards from attending...absolutely genius, not just a good idea! That takes care of 2 days per year.

How about standing on the council floor and demanding 2000 more beat cops for the other 363 days to keep our neighborhood safe.

Classic example of someone who's never happy. We should applaud the Alderman for this.

I agree with MPots for the first time. (Just kiddin). Matt O'Shea actually DOES stuff for our area and it is clear that he cares about the community. I knew him from before he was the Alderman and back then I did not know he had any political connections. He was a straight shooter whether you agree or disagree.

Looks like the Mayor just got his lunch handed to him by the Governor. Seems like anybody who stands up to the little tyrant is getting their way. Hope the Police and Fire do the same.

Exactly. How is it that O'Shea can help find a way to stop a multi billion dollar company like Chick-fil-a from opening in the city limits, but cant find a way to stop some gang bangers from shooting guns off in the air and making racially motivated threats against white citizens here? So its ok for Harolds Chicken to come to 95th/Western, but NOT ok for Chick-fil-a to go there because the owner said he thinks marriage is between a man and a woman. You cant support that but you CAN support pro gay marriage Fran Hurley. Great.

OShea did not attempt to stop Chick Filet from coming here. If they wanted too, I'm sure he would welcome them with open arms.

I hope not. I neither want a freaking Chick Fliet (*spelling) or the gang funerals near me.

Didn't see one 19th ward poll watcher/ captain/helper etc at my polling place. You can tell they're hard at work getting out the vote.

I believe the 19 Ward had the highest number of ballots cast and the highest % of voter turnout in the city, clearly they were busy doing something.
