Is the 19th Ward Democratic Party really saying "we have looked around and found that these people are the best, the very best, to represent our interest in Springfield". If so, they need to rethink it because proponents of abortion and gay marriage do not reflect our values and in fact are contrary to our interest. I will take it one step further and say that they are disrespectful of the heritage that they claim.
Below are candidates that are either pro abortion or pro gay marriage and have decided to skip tonight's forum.
Candidate #1 |
Candidate # 2 |
What? Candidates for State Senate District 18, State House District 35, State House District 36, will discuss the current issues.
When? 7:00 PM October 29, 2012.
Where? Parkwood Baptist Church 11333 S. Central Park Chicago.
The event will be moderated by Pastor Thorin Anderson of Parkwood Baptist Church and will be broadcast live on cable TV.
These people are an assault on our values.
ReplyDeleteGay marriage means the newly wed will have a auto matic claim on our pension. the pension pool is too small already. time to speak up people.
ReplyDeleteThanks to Maloney, they already do! Who is the guy that works at Rice who lives on Central Park that has the signs up for the pro-abortion/gay marriage advocate Hurley? I wonder if Rice is protecting our children from guys like that, that don't share our values?
DeleteCunningham is not pro-abortion, read the Trib interview.
ReplyDeleteBill Cunningham is pro-abortion. He worked as spokesman for Pat Quinn, the most pro-abortion governor in American history. He has endorsed and campaigned with Fran Hurley, an anti-life extremist who received thousands of dollars worth of contributions from Personal PAC, the anti-life group lead by anti-Catholic and anti-family activist Terry Cosgrove. He has been endorsed by and aligned with Matt O'Shea, who as democrat committeeman voluntarily works to help elect pro-abortion politicians throughout the ward, city, and state.
DeleteI know some fellow police officers who have HURLEY signs in their yard? Why does this happen? What fear can you really have for saying NO to the 19th ward anymore? They cant take your job away from you, and that goes for pretty much any cit worker. For the life of me i cant understand why anyone who works for the city would feel obligated or intimidated to put a Hurley, Rahm etc sign in their yard. I work with alot of guys who claim to be "conservative" but i dont see alot of Romney signs out here. What gives?
ReplyDeleteIts not your grandfather's Democratic Party.
ReplyDelete“In a democracy people get the leaders they deserve.” -- Joseph de Maistre
ReplyDeleteAre these candidates rreally NOT going to show up and speak to us voters?
ReplyDeletei am very sure they will be there, Murph quit trashng these guys, and spreading untrue rumors, they will be there, they will speak to the joke of party republicans,...Not because they are afraid, bu tout of repsect for us voters!
please does anyone think for a second that teh republicans are going to win in cook ocunty or namely in the 19th ward???
really now.
Mary Jane
Mary Jane....there are alot of Republican voters in the 19th Ward. It shows up every four years for President. The Democrat Party is unrecognizable to many of us. It is not the Party our parents or grandparents supported. They would puke to hear what garbage these sellouts support.
DeleteI believe their offices have said that they WON'T be there. I think that the accomplishments of the Republican Candidates' match up pretty favorably against these Democrat candidates. First of all, the Republicans work in the private sector, or as I like to call it, "the real world". They both have multiple advanced degrees, and preach fiscal conservatism and social conservatism. The Democrat candidates ? Cunningham has worked for Sheahan or in the Sheriffs Dept for like 18 years! Fran Hurley? The only job I am aware of is that she worked for the 19th Ward office. I am not sure if she has a college degree. These two were the best the Democrats could field ? I would love Mary Jane to give us some reasons why we should vote FOR these two political hacks.
DeleteThey did not show up as expected. They were probably kept busy signing up for free scholarships for their family.
DeleteI intend to vote for both of them. In thinking about it I am sure they will be there tonight. I f they didnt show up, I would be hard pressed to think of anything more disrespectful. I guess I would have trouble voting for them then.
ReplyDeleteCunningham and Hurley were "no-shows" last night as expected. They feel entitled to their jobs and don't understand how the rest of us have to earn what we have. They should earn our votes. They may be the hand-picked favorites but we are the ones who vote. Shame on them for not answering to their community last night.
DeleteScholarships and sidewalks.
ReplyDeleteHow many scholarships did Hurley get?
DeleteAnd state funded day care centers for those babies on Western.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDeleteHe stuck it to Mike Sheahan.
DeleteHow did he stick it to Sheahan. Many of us do not know the inside information
Deletefour vote in my house will not go to fran her kids went to collage for free i also work for the city no sign on my lawn the 19th ward is gone time to sell
ReplyDeleteShe is for big government and likes Springfield the way it is because she receives the government handouts such as free scholarships that will never be given to the rest of us.
DeleteIts all about Tom Dart running for mayor after Rahm leaves. Dart wants to put up candidates here that could sell on the north side.
ReplyDeletelet's see if these people show up . ask them to explain their positions on these issues BUT will they also support madigan in springfield? what about all the taxes and regulations for businesses. how will obumer care will affect up all. what are their intentions ? ask and ask some more. hold them to their words. if they dont show you know where they stand and it will not be with you........
ReplyDeleteI have written here before. I don't get all the Madigan bashing. He is doing the best with all the mental midgets being sent to him. Look at our own. look at Quinn. If you ask me, I think Mr. Madigan is the only person holding it together.
DeleteWe will see if this one gets censored or not, but I am working on details now for an alternate blog regarding 19th ward politics that does not censor posts.
ReplyDeleteI am Irish. I am Catholic. I live in the 19th ward. And I support gay marriage. It offends me that my Irish and Catholic heritage would be used for politics.
This is what I call the "Irish and Catholic card."
You sound like a gay Irish Catholic.
DeleteYou don't even have to bother. The 19th Ward Democratic Organization already has a website.
DeleteGood luck with that. One more liberal blog out there among a sea of liberalism. You obviously dont get it. And by the way your Catholic Church does not support gay marriage. Anyone want to know what will happen once gay marriage is enacted besides the huge rush for free health care benefits for "spouses"....it will become criminal to oppose homosexual behavior and the homosexual agenda, even for churches because after all it will be a "civil right" and to oppose the protected group will be criminalized. It is already happening in Canada. Certain groups attempted to engage in dialogue with the radical homosexual movement to insure that religious groups would still be given the right to preach as they please...and surprise they shot that down immediately. p.s. - did you get censored again for anit Mormon bigotry ? If you start your new blog you can ridicule
DeleteThanks for that, anonymous poster. According to this blog, if you're Irish and Catholic you should be against people who are gay, and people who think abortion is an option. I'm Irish. I'm Catholic. It doesn't mean I have issues with gay people or abortion. I don't recall the founder having much to say about it either.
DeleteI wasn't aware that this moderator censored alternate views.
this blog is not against gays, its against the concept of gay marriage.
DeleteTHE DAY IS COMING WHEN CHRISTIAN INSTITUTIONS WILL BE LABELED AS HATE GROUPS BECAUSE THEY SPEAK OUT ABOUT GAYS.
Delete
DeleteI don't know, anonymous (why is everyone here anonymous? Safer?) People sling the word "gay" as an insult all the time on this blog. As far as being against gay marriage -- it's ok to be gay, just not to marry another gay man or woman providing the benefits that come with a civil union? Big of you.
Maybe just maybe the gays are mentally ill. Maybe they need to be told its wrong instead of being told its ok. Maybe some counseling would help some of them.
DeleteWent to the forum out of curiosity just to see if the Democratic candidates would show. Unfortunately there were three empty chairs with name plates in front of each seat. The Republicans each espoused a fiscal platform as you would imagine. It really was pretty disrespectful that none of the Dems showed up. They were blasted in that they were accused of being given six dates to debate and none were accepted. Of course, if you had such a big lead in poles why would you subject yourself to being put a position of possibly making some error that might cost you the race.
ReplyDeleteI guess ALL THREE Democrat candidates failed to show at Parkwood baptist church last night.
ReplyDeleteHowever all three of their republican office seekers did show up and face the public and answered questions for over two hours.
arrogance on behalf of the 19th ward candidates once again.
None of the Dems were there because it was NOT A DEBATE. It was a Republican candidates meeting. The debate was held 2 weeks ago in Palos, all the Dems were there. THIS BLOG IS A JOKE, WHEN DO YOU STOP WITH THE HALF-TRUTHS?
ReplyDeleteSounds like the people at the ward office is responding.
DeleteHurley didnt show up at that event in Palos either.
DeleteHurley is trying to slip in. Guess what? She will.
DeleteThe pastor was upset last night. He said he has had this forum for years and that all of the candidates always showed up.
ReplyDeleteit was a park wood Baptist event, the other blogger is correct.
ReplyDeleteThe pastor was very upset, he even commented during the start of the event that he invited all candidates and they have always shown up in the past, he said in his opinion he felt that sent a message to the community regarding the level of respect the candidates had for their constituents.
Hey Whatever, they(the Democrat candidates don’t feel they need to be there, so ok...their decision live with it …they will most likely win I am sure, BUT it is highly disrespectful for us who think they really give a damn about us.
, so dont try to back peddle it now 19th ward office....IE HURLEY!!!
I just got Hurleys mailer today. She is going to stop medicare fraud. Thats great news. Maybe she will do something about legislative scholarship fraud too.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the pensions? Our pensions. Whats she going to do about that? What about her? Is she going to try to collect 2 pensions?
i saw that piece too. In the picture is Fran standing next to Shirley McSweeney and Mo McSweeney. I love the McSweeney women. Those 2 are the sweetest kindest gentlist people around. I don't know if I love Fran.
ReplyDeleteBill Cunningham off the record will tell you off the record he is actually a Conservative Republican. He even tells people he is 100% pro-life.. This is the same guy who drove to Iowa in 2008 with Tom Dart to stump for Obama. Yes, the infamous trip where eyewitnesses told blogger Dart's Chief of Staff visted bars and strip clubs in his County Vehicle. Bill Cunningham is a political opportunist with no core. Remember that when you cast your vote for State Senate. His opponent Dr. Barbara Bellar is not afraid to be a Conservative Republican in public. Bill, do you realize how much of a phony people think you are. Will you be conflicted voting for the parties liberal policies when your not even a Democrat? At least Tom Dart is a true liberal democrat. He's not just playing one on TV..
