Fran Hurley

Who is she? What special qualifications does she have? Why did the 19th Ward Democrats select her over other candidates? What does she stand for? What will she do when elected?

Is it true that Fran's son or daughter got a legislative scholarship that ordinary people are ineligible for?

I got a robo-call saying she supported gay marriage last time around. Is this true? I've heard alot of people say she is pro abortion and gay marriage.

We got the same call. In the primary, I believe she was endorsed by a pro-abortion political action committee.

  4. If everyone voted third party, or even wrote in Pinocchio, it would send a strong message to Madigan-ites and Cullerton-trolls everywhere. That's what I'm doing.

By doing that you are supporting Fran Hurley. If you want to actually send a message, then vote for Fran Hurley's Republican opponent.

This is actually one of the most intelligent comments that I have read. I was considering submitting a blank ballot (or, worse, not voting at all), but I would rather give Pinocchio a chance than most of these "leaders."

If we were serious about politics, then the worst thing we could do is vote for more Madigan-controlled puppets.

Pots, you finally said something worth reading. Pinocchio gets my vote!

    4. I would vote Repub but it's more of the same -- Cullerton is as responsible as Madigan, and I don't believe the way election money is allocated at the state level is any different from Democrat to Republican. There MUST be another option to vote for besides Dems and Repubs. They have to be shown the door and made to fight for every vote they get.

She is definetely pro-abortion, no doubt. She was given PAC money from a woman's proabortion group in the primaries. That is a fact. I am confident that she is pro "redefining marriage". I am pretty sure Maloney voted for it. I would also suspect Bill Cunningham is for this as well. They are true believer liberals. Not like the old machine Democrats. I know she is pro tax despite her mailers now - at least she was when she came to my house to get us to support Quinn. She supported the 50% income tax hike on all of us, remember the hike that became a 67% tax when he took office?

I would seriously consider supporting her opponent Ricardo Fernandez. He is having a fund raiser and asking everyone to bring specific needs for Operation Support our Troops America. It will be held Oct 16, 2012 at the Chieftain Irish Pub 6906 W 111th St, Worth.....630-930 $35.

Go to ricardofernandez.com to find out more. I just did and I am impressed. PHD in physical therapy and a Northwestern faculty member in addition to a physical therapist. Graduated from Evergreen Park HS in 1984. A pretty good resume if you ask me. I am not sure what Fran Hurley's background is or even if she graduated college. She was an aide in the 19th Ward offices in recent years. On his site he promises to repeal the 67% Quinn Madigan tax hike...got my vote....

Yeah, I don't get how she says she is for middle class tax relief now but helped push through the 66 and2/3% increase in the state income tax. Said she hates Madigan but has Madigan put out a maler for her. Hurley is a phony and now we know who the phonies in our ward are. Just look at who lives in the houses that have signs. The pro gay marriage, pro abortion, pro welfare and tax to the max hacks.

This is Frans position on taxes. Read it. It says nothing.

Last year, the State of Illinois balanced its budget using a massive, temporary tax increase on individuals and businesses. With so many families struggling to make ends meet, this was an irresponsible time to impose any additional burden on the taxpayers. Moving forward, I support creating a bi-partisan commission to create a plan for our State to live without that "temporary" revenue that does not impact important services like quality education or police and fire protection.

If we do not begin working on alternatives now, it will be impossible to roll back those taxes when the time comes. We must find new, more efficient ways to deliver quality services to the citizens of Illinois. By ensuring this tax is truly temporary, the Legislature can keep its promise to the public and begin the long process of restoring public trust in government.

Many families in our community struggle each day to pay tuition and raise their children. As a homeowner and mother of three children, I understand the impact of escalating property taxes, especially in light of falling home values. I vow not only to oppose further tax increases, but also to work for true property tax reform including tax cap legislation to balance falling home values with rising property taxes. In an effort to reduce property taxes, we must also force local governments to re-evaluate administrative expenses.

Amazing, there are still people who still think Tom Hynes runs the ward!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They don't understand that Hynes was shown the door after his precinct captains didn't deliver enough for Ginger Vs Somerville. There was another election Hynes and his precinct captains didn't deliver enough on. Ginger went to the real Ward Committeeman, Jerry Joyce and they decided it was time for Tom to hit the bricks.

It sure is nice to see somebody else on here that worked in the ward office and knows how it really was .

Also, I love these people who come on here and make the statement that, Hynes was such an honest and sincere man who will be canonized a saint in a few years. The people who say those things have only met “Tom” one time, at the handshake of peace at St. John Fisher in the last 2 rows in the back of church back in 1978. Now they are life long friends.

I don't think anyone doubts the sincerity and abilities of Matt O'Shea and his boss Jerry Joyce. They deserve our support. But just because they slate someone doesn't mean that we need to vote for her. I am speaking of Fran Hurley. Her stands on abortion and gay marriage are abhorant and represent a departure from the traditional values that make the 19th ward neighborhoods unique. She does not deserve our vote.

Her personal views aside, what qualifies Hurley to represent the 19th ward? Other than she has quite a few friends in SJF with her sign in front of their houses, what can she do for our neighborhood? Can she keep my kids safe and restore my property values? Or is she just another political patsy?
I'd take Attila the Hun right now if he'd actually make a difference.
I don't support abortion or gay marriage, and I don't want my tax $$$'s supporting them either. So if Fran's planning on bringing Planned Parenthood and Happy Times drive thru gay marriage chapels to the area, then no, I won't vote for her. However, if she can pick up my garbage, plow the streets, pave my sidewalks, lower my taxes and city services costs, and stop bending over to the criminal politicians with their hand in my pocket, then I don't care if the sleeps with squirrels and practices voodoo, what she does on her own time is her business.
But right now, I only know she's a former ward worker that's only qualified to pick up the phone and say hello.

Sometimes I think our traditions in this heavily Catholic ward are gone for good. When the Democrats come out for legalizing sex with minors the 19th Ward hacks will probably go along. It really has gotten bad. They have no shame. I have to think that they don't give two thoughts about how their Democratic platform is so warped. They only care about the Catholics when they can use their churches and public functions to press the flessh and advertise themselves. And shame on the churches that invite these frauds to speak and by doing so give them legitimacy.

    www.ricardoAfernandez.com

There is an "a" between Ricardo and Fernandez!

and yes he is a PHD, and a long time (a real deal, many years before political campaign life) supporter of honor flight and wounded warriors and a comes from the south side, evergreen park area, his brothers are Chicago PD, he has teachers and firefighters all in his family also.

Sorry I missed the "A". Just met him the other day and he is just a regular guy - on the surface. He is clearly someone who has made something of himself. From a large family. A South sider. Fran Hurley is another phoney Democrat. She is definetely very liberal and will support Quinn - the taxer and Madigan - the taxaholic. If you know someone who you think is reasonable (and not grazing from the govt feedbag), tell them honestly that you have reservations about Hurley.. (1) Underqualified. (2) Pro Quinn and higher taxes - despite her mailers. (3) Pro abortion - not prochoice (was funded by proabort groups) (4)Kid got a free college ride unfairly through the rigged "scholarship award" program where elected Reps were given carte blanche to award free tution money to "deserving" students...basically no strings attached. Vote for an outsider this time. Your bank account will appreciate you.

this is why we need to see these people together on one stage but that will not happen. what we need to do is vote out the existing regime. anyone but the chosen one. this means whoever is supported by the party has got to go. this will start the process of eliminating madigan and his shit party . vote people, please........
