Fran Hurley is not returning phone calls.

Dislikes Debates
Repub candidate for state rep Rick Fernandez, has been calling Fran Hurley and trying to set up a few debates. He can't find her. Is she trying to dodge him?

If she won't return a call now, do you think she'll return a call after the election.

Tip for Fernandez . . . . When you call, say that you're calling about the free scholarship for one of her kids.

Fran you need to respond to him. You need to debate the issues.

This is from the examiner.com. Hurley said she would vote "no" on gay marriage, although she acknowledged that she does have a gay relative and "would hate to deny her the right to marry."

So what does that mean? Do you think Gays should be able to marry?

    1. I don't advocate defacing anyone's signs. Anyone that does that is breaking the law. I do advocate discussion of the issues.

I've heard this more than once. The 19th Ward Aldermans Office is nothing more than a Socialist Enclave loaded with hypocrites and incompetents at getting anything done properly.

Hurley also stated in the examiner.com that she received no contribution from the pro abortion Personal Pac. This blatant lie is disproved on the Illinois State Board of Elections website which lists Fran Hurley as receiving thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from this pro baby death group.

On February 29, 2011 Huley told the Sun Times editorial board that she is "leaning on yes for gay marriage".

    This is your Democratic party;

International monitors at US polling places

United Nations-affiliated election monitors from Europe and central Asia will be at polling places around the U.S. looking for voter suppression activities by conservative groups, a concern raised by civil rights groups during a meeting this week.

The UN now has jurisdiction over US elections? Not on my watch!

I am concerned that the leading candidate for an office representing our neighborhood will not discuss the issues in a public forum. Either she is not up to the challenge or she is arrogant. Considering her sponsors, I think it's the later.

That is truly a great point. If she will not discuss the issues now or as others have posted, will not answer her phones, then she obviously does not care whether she is pleasing her constituents. Maybe it is because she is only interested in pleasing Madigan and the radical left. Her flyers are stupid...She is against banks and against child molesters ! Seriously those are the two flyers I have received. OH and she is also against pay hikes for politicians! Wow what tough stances! I mean when I am at Beverly Park watching a football game that is all I hear people talking about...you know the huge rash of child molesters and banks fooling people with bad loans or whatever! I recommend at least ONE time, THIS time - tell your neighbor who has a Fran sign out all about her. If they defend her then oh well, you tried. Many have no idea about her they are just following orders...but so far the Dems have not been able to get cameras placed in the voting booth to see how you actually vote...so even if they keep their Fran sign out, you may get them to pull for Fernandez when it counts....

It appears that every person who makes a comment in support of gay marriage gets censored.

I wonder if this one will slip by the ever vigilant censors. lol.

Well Fran, maybe you should make some pro gay marriage comments publicly instead of anonymously on a Ward blog!

I am not a sign person; I have never displayed a sign.

But you have to pay them to provide free advertising for a candidate? Republicans truly are financial predators.

    2. Anonymous10/22/2012

No. I went out to get a sign and they requested a modest donation to defray the costs. I admit that I was sort of taken back at first until the woman at the office told me that the Romney campaign has not given much money to Illinois for strategic reasons. They had to buy them themselves. I am sure that in Texas, or wherever Romney has a good lead, the Obama campaign is not throwing money around wastefully either. Or wait...on second thought maybe they are. I guess it just highlights the differences between the two Parties...Democrats want stuff FREE or want others to pay for it... The Republicans realize that NOTHING is free and eventually SOMEONE has to pay.

It certainly does highlight the difference. The Republican party is simultaneously going to charge ( request "donations") for you to provide them free marketing. In this case, it is not free marketing to you. You "donated" for it.

Then, if elected, take away your charitable (and other middle-class) tax deductions.

      This is beyond ironic.

This is the 21st Century and campaigns today are not exactly like they were in the 1960's. If someone wants a sign they can get one. It is not "advertising" in the sense that you are not exactly highlighting for someone else's benefit, ie a product. You are highlighting something YOU want...like a President who understands business.

The fact that this is what you feel important to point out shows you have NOTHING else to talk about. Not once has any of the leftist bloggers here ever even attempted to tell us how great Oblamer is. Basically all they have done is try to smear Mitt Romney - and if it hasn't worked in the country why do you think it will work here? Keep talkin about paying for a yard sign, Big Bird, and "binders". We will keep talking about NO JOBS, feeble economic growth that is slowing again and will probably drop negative for the last quarter or Q! 2013.

The reason Fran won't debate is the same reason Obama keeps dropping in the polls. When the voter sees the two candidates together, WITHOUT THE MEDIA FILTERING INFORMATION, the Republican is now a viable candidate. After the third debate tonite, Romney will just continue to gain at the expense of the Blamer in Chief, Obummer...

The Obama campaign was trying to get people to give their Christmas money to Obama...I guarantee you that in the states where Romney is way ahead, it will be hard to find alot of "free" signs and bumper stickers with that cute little Circle. And when the Democrat in say...Montana asks "Can I have a yard sign?" The campaign worker might just answer ironically....... "No you can't"

Yeah those DemocRATS in the 19th Ward have plenty of signs...in fact they come out and just put them on your lawn if you work for the city! And you better not remove it either. By the way, where are the Obama signs in the Democratic stronghold of the 19th Ward ? ! I have counted a grand total of three !! I see alot of the mini vans that still have their faded Obama 2008 stickers still on the car, along with their faded blue and white "war is not the answer" sticker. Apparently they are oblivious to the irony of those two stickers four years after Obumstead said he would get us out. "I will begin withdrawl in six months"..."In 90 days I will begin withdrawl of troops from IraQ".
