Thank You CPD

Thanks to the CPD for protecting the neighborhood yesterday during the funeral for Lil Jo Jo. Most people were at work and didn't see what I saw when we were coming back from Dominick's. These gang funerals are intolerable and don't belong here.  It's time to put some serious legal heat on the owners of Mt. Hope who are aggressively marketing their cemetery to the gang bang people.

No O'Shea, no Cunningham and no Maloney at the Mt. Hope protest. Also, no problems. If our leaders are not willing to do the right thing because they too terrified of Rahm or afraid of being labeled as racist, then they ought to be replaced.

We need the deeper thinking that a lawyer can bring to the table. Matt if you cant do this then resign and let Pickle take over.

Matt is doing a good job with Mt Hope and all. Its not the kind of problem you rush into.

Residents gathered at the west end of Kennedy Park, and were headed south to Mount Hope cemetery at 115th Street and Washtenaw Avenue. Families with children showed up to voice their opposition to what they say are unruly processions, where funeral-goers hang out of car windows, flash gang signs, carry guns and snarl traffic.

“We are not protesting funeral processions,” organizer Tony Bansley said. “We are protesting gang activity coming into our community and Mount Hope.”

You should have attended the meeting at Kennedy Park. All three local leaders explained in detail what they have done and are continuing to do to control this problem. No need for them to be at the protest when they need to negotiate something with the cemetery owners. The people who were there did a fine job organizing themselves.

Forget about it! Nothing will be done. Remember, these are all VOTING democrats in those funeral processions. The parasite vote will always be more inportant to the democrat party than any neighborhood concerns.

I hate to say it but no elected officials at the march really does not suprise me. It seems Tom Dart can't be bothered with issues in his own back yard. Our good neighbors are going through hell over this cemetary and Dart seems to care more about inmates playing chess ang growing vegtables to notice. After his outrage at Burr Oak I guess he only shows up when there are reporters and cameras, ala Jesse. As for the rest of our elected leaders they just seem to be scared to take any stand at all. We need leaders that will fight for our neighborhood, and have the spine to take a stand. if politicians are the voice of the neighborhood we have been left mute for to long. Seems to me it would be a good time to rip up the street in front of the cemetary and put in a new sewar line, and let it sit unfilled like the rest of the side streets in the neighborhood have been for months. If the processions can't drive down 115th they will have to use 119th entrance. Maybe we can have a ribbon ceremony at 119th entrance, that way are elected officials can see the cemetary everyone is so upset about. We can even have camaeras and so maybe Dart will show up.

The deal with Mt. Hope has already been cut. The Troost family is willing to spend the money to put a back gate on 119th street but this gate will only be used for funeral exits because 119th is too narrow for funeral entrances. This will do very little to solve the problem. Any protests against this will be met by "back of the bus" black backlash by Mt, Hope who has hired former 18th Ward Aldermanic candidate Paul Stewart as their consultant. You will see no sign of our elected officials because they are scared of the Mayor and terrified of bad press. So despite what their next public statements, the problem is far from solved.
