Off the record: First off I dislike ND and don't give a rats behind about them. Second, I was on 107th St and saw a group of kids doubled up on bikes,eastbound from California, I turned N/B on Talman to check out this group, when I spot a marked car w/ blue light heading my way,wave them down,ask if they are looking for above mentioned group, they say "yes", I tell them,where they were heading. I turn around, check area, observe subjects at 109th & Washtenaw,heading E/B. Call 911,tell dispacther the info, see same squad,and give them update. A neighborhood woman asks me if I think "they" were stealing bikes, because she "thought" they might be. I warned her to have her kids lock up their bikes and call suspicious activity/subjects into 911. Went E/B on 109th and saw that CPD had the group stopped at 110th and Rockwell. Good work by 022 officers and thanks to whoever called 911, about subjects! Retired but still watching out.
I agree. We should praise the police when they are working for us. I have criticezed them on this blog in the past as well. Many good cops in 022 - but still too many coffee drinkers...
I think part of the problem with Notre Dame is that over the years it has become less and less a Catholic institution. Obama is invited to speak - and cover a religious symbol while he was there. Alternately, a Catholic priest was ARRESTED at Notre Dame for protesting abortion on campus. The teachers, including the so called Catholics teach against the church. So the whole vibe of Notre Dame has changed for the worse.
I was a Notre Dame supporter until they invited Godless Obama to speak at the graduation.
