I am very concerned about what is happening with the BAC. The director is out, 5/3 Bank is threatening foreclosure and a local pol has been making inquiries with the Chicago Park District about some kind of funding package. This is about all we know as of today. This institution is so important to the neighborhood that more information is deserving. I hope the BAC board of directors strives to keep the public informed and doesn't hesitate to make the case for more private donations.
What do neighborhood people think ?
OSHEA AND MALLONEY. THEY WANT TO SELL IT TO THE PARK DISTRICT
ReplyDeleteThe Park District wouldn't take it even if it was for free. The parks in our ward are already underutilized for indoor activities. The schools and churches have adequate space to accommodate large indoor athletic events. The Park District has no money to even rent from the BAC and would certainly never take on liability issues on a venue that they do not control and serves alcohol. O'Shea and company really messed up by getting rid of Mike Nix and losing Bill Figel. Watch some unqualified hack picked by O'Shea get the director's job after a blue ribbon nation wide search. The BAC is the next Borders Books.
ReplyDeletei think rev wright is going to buy it?
ReplyDeleteMatt O'Shea didn't get rid of Mike Nix. The board did.
ReplyDeleteMatt is on the board, cast his vote against Nix and led the board to believe Rahm wanted Nix gone. Fact is Rahm wants the 19th Ward gone.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have Pickle. Pickle will stand up to Rahm.
DeleteMichael Joyce will bring back true Leadership, something the 19th ward desperately needs!
ReplyDeleteHas the forum become a "Pickle Joyce" for Alderman blog. I'm getting to the point that I don't care to read anymore. Why doesn't somebody just open a campaign office and leave the rest of us out it. Please, enough already. We don't need your comments in every topic. The election will come soon enough.
