The electorate has been described by our leaders as a "basket of deplorables", "garbage" and "scoundrels". Besides that, they do truly care.
Trust me when I tell you that this is the prevailing attitude among a majority of our political leaders. Dat's why they call them the "Elite" don't you know.

Edna White Community Garden
I was wondering if anyone has plans to till the soil this year. Last year, it was looking a little shabby.
Kathy Figel has been selfless, tireless and generous in her efforts to preserve the Edna White Community Garden. Our entire neighborhood can take pride in the Edna White Garden because Kathy Figel has been such a Champion. Our community could be unbelievably fantastic if everybody could just pitch in a little.
The comment above containing the n word was written on April 18th. Today is the 21st. After three days it remains here. Since none of these comments posts immediately and all must pass the inspection of the blogger, I'm surprised that it's here at all.
There was an opportunity to promote a garden that is maintained by residents. People used this forum appropriately to do that, to give credit to a resident who is largely responsible for caring for the garden, and to solicit more help with it. Then someone had to use bad language to bring up something that has nothing to do with maintaining or improving the garden. Why is this allowed? When a blog that claims to promote positive change contains a comment like the one above, readers can legitimately wonder what the real motive is for this forum, and question whether the forum is relevant. Furthermore, just because you can make such a comment doesn't mean you should. The beauty of first amendment rights is knowing how to exercise them responsibly. Please delete the racist post.

ReplyDeletePeople need to sign up to help Kathy. BAPA, can you please put a request for volunteers in your paper?
ReplyDeleteOne person cannot be expected to do it all. Kathy has done a great job. We need 100 Kathys.
