A Holiday Tree? |
om a Christian society to a secular society. Their reasons are complex and too involved to be explored here. Suffice it to say that I am opposed and I think a majority of our neighborhood is too. Why is it then that Matt O'Shea and the local Democratic Party, sent everyone invites to a "Holiday Party" that was held on December 9? A Holiday Party in a neighborhood that is 98% Christian and in a political organization which is 99.5% Christian. Was he hesitant to offend someone? Was he trying to avoid offending the .005% of the volunteers that are not Christian? Perhaps he was trying to cozy up to his coffee mate. The guy Matt has been having pancakes with at The Pancake House. The guy he has already thrown all his support to (before he even heard his platform). In the rush to gain political acceptance, Matt has already signed on.
The question that I have for Matt O'Shea is how are you going to stand up to Rahm Emanuel on important issues such as the new ward map, the poor schools or salvaging what is left of the municipal pensions when you are afraid to call your party a Christmas party?
