Finally, someone is contesting the parking meter contract. The case is named Bunting vs. William Blair and Co. 10 CH 40418. Watch this case. It is charging that a Daley nephew at Morgan Stanley, got and still gets, a huge commission check (over $1,000,000 every year). It also charges Blair and numerous alderman with negligence for not reading what they were voting on.
A legal expert I know says that the next step in the case may be to allege RICO and name all of the aldermen that voted for the parking deal. If that happens those aldermen could be personally on the hook. This case may eventually result in a rewrite of the parking meter contract.

ReplyDeleteThe SunTimes had an article about Daley and I think it put it best. It said Daleys downfall was that he stopped listening to the people. The parking Meters were the best of many examples of that exact thing.

Our Organization has been around for nearly 40 years, in one sense or another, from the days of the Duffy’s to the days of Rugai.
Point:
We will win every election because we control the vote, you can and do have your few malcontents in every election cycle, but you cannot organize to beat our established system that is in place.
We have generations of families, literally married together as tightly as the 16th century royal families of ole Europe, brothers married to sisters of other families, and cousins married to friends of other families, all involved in the running of the plantation to serve the organization. It is scary to think that about 130 to150 people control the city and the 4 county regions through marriage and blood lines.
History reminds us that the peasants seldom over throw the power base, it does occur but it has not occurred here and even with all the screaming and chest beating and tea bagger movement, the lower class surfs (residents) will always work to support the upper-class rulers(the organization).
So fear not little malcontent ones, we hold our power, we will hold our reign, we will hold the jobs, we will hold the clout and you will go back to sleep and thank us again for four more years.
And in return we will look out for you and give you raises and give you city & county benefits, and get you that garbage can and “occasionally” help you get the promotion spot.
SO….just do your jobs, be where we tell you to be, vote when, where and for whom we tell you to vote and all will be ok in your world as well as ours.
And yes we do not need the nasty “N” words and other racial MG hillbilly garbage on here.
