Question of the week, Police?

Is the police protection in the 19th ward adequate to safeguard persons and property? If not what should be done to enhance it?

Police protection in the 19th Ward is not adequate. Available manpower must be reallocated. Empty out the specialized units, the building, and the front offices and put the manpower on the street.

Police work is done on the street, not at 3510 Michigan or Homan Square.

The dispatchers are greatly at fault as well as the call takers. Seeing that none of them live in our ward, they don't keep 2211 or 2212 on their beat. If the district commander had any balls he would keep 2211 on their beat as the 008th district commander keeps 811 on their beat. Maybe Commander Kuemmeth can find the intestinal fortitude to tell the invaders to the east to go screw themselves and keep the car over here.

There are plenty of police that live here, but it sucks to have to work when you're off. I know ginger is gone because of this, no city services...no vote. Period.

I haven't voted FOR Ginger in years and yes the Commander of 022 needs to keep 2211 on the beat.

Keeping 2211 on the beat will not solve anything. The BS missions need to stop, the incident cars that are in the 7-11 all night reading magazines need to stop, they need to man all beat cars and rapids, in doing so there will be more cars available to answer jobs therefore allowing 2211 to stay on the west end. The parents of the kids that run rampant on the west end need to take care of their own, so police can handle actual crime. Most of the problems on the west end are due to the kids causing havoc thereby tying up police resources. Take care of your own first, it's not the Commanders or 2211's job.

Unqualified leadership— lacking vision or a sense of public service—poses the greatest threat to police. The greatest threat to the public is police enforcing the law and providing service that is directed by unqualified or under qualified leaders.

    What does that mean?

That means our bosses are not qualified and that they have no clue.

I'm glad you don't mind, I'd rather have the cars driving around preventing crime just by their mere presence. But you are right I've never heard about any crime at the 7-11, so good job at that location.
