So, who is it going to be?

OUT
Rahm is not running again. Take that to the bank. (If you think there is even a slight chance of him running again, you have too much time on Western Ave).

We have had 2 years to contemplate it. Which favorite daughter or son of the19th Ward are we going to support for mayor of Chicago in 2019?

The favorites are:
Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart

Both of these people are accomplished and capable. Since their positions on the key issues are probably identical and their personal lives are probably similar, it really comes down to who do you think can win against a radical left wing candidate. A candidate that will have lots of out of town money. Your thoughts please.

I don't think we can be so sure that Rahm isn't running again. If he runs and dumps all of the corporate money he will no doubt raise into the race, it's his again. Sad, but true. He doesn't deserve it and he has made this city much, much worse than any of us could ever have thunk it. He really should have stepped aside after his first term, but his own hubris wouldn't let him. He is an asshole.

It's definitely not Rahms for the taking.

Gotta spell it out. OH MY GOD! Are you out of your mind? Dart??!!! Gainer??!!! "Both of these people are accomplished and capable" What in the world are you smoking? I would pee on Dart's face if it were on fire! And as far as a "radical left wing candidate", who the EFF do you think is pushing low/no bonds for the occupants of "his jail". Tell us you're just trying to be funny. C'mon, get serious. Get your head out of your ass. Dart & Gainer, this site must have been hacked. You can't possibly be serious.

We have plenty of other favorite sons. What about Pickle Joyce. That would be my pick for sure.

It's long past time for a Republican mayor in Chicago.

When its all said and done, the candidate who can reach out and raise the most money, gets the campaign started earliest, gets the petitions signed and uses lots of campaign money to challenge opponents petitions. Maybe Chuey will stick his neck out again. But Dart, Gainer...really? Don't think I could handle looking at the Carmel fleece or that tossled thing he wears on his head while listening to him pontificate about "his" this or that.

But I would be curious to see what kind of campaign funds Dart or Gainer could raise. Maybe all those inmates at the pizza parties could throw a fundraiser for them. They already know how to throw things. Maybe Dart could campaign about how he screwed over a lot of his employees like he bragged about in that YouTube video of his radio interview.

As far as Gainer is concerned, how much campaign money can she raise? Nah, when its all said and done, Rahm can't walk away while his ego is tarnished. He may lose, but he'll certainly run.

Gainer admittedly trained in "Alinsky" tactics while in New York. What a screwball. Dart? Well he is a well documented self identified bleeding heart liberal. Gainer left the South Side, showered, and never looked back. Dart at least lives in our Ward.....so I guess he is "better"? We are in trouble. These people all share the left wing vision of the universe. They will do what left wing socialist policies do everywhere! From Venezuela and Cuba, East Germany or Poland. And yes we are seeing the steady migration of hard working tax payers and job creators leaving this State. It will only get worse under "Mayor Dart", and "Governor Pritzker". Higher taxes, fees, regulations, crime, debt and poor quality of life. Basically any direction you travel out of Illinois has a better quality of life and fiscal balance sheet...Indiana, Iowa, Wisconsin etc...simple fact is that Republican states are better managed, lower taxed, and have much better job opportunities. Capitalism works EVERYWHERE it is tried!

If Dart becomes mayor, O'Shea will move up to sheriff and that will be good.
