"Junk status" What has he done?

Intentionally crashed the state into a wall
Illinois is on track to become the first U.S. state to have its credit rating downgraded to "junk" status, which would deepen its multibillion-dollar deficit and cost taxpayers more for years to come.
S&P Global Ratings has warned the agency will likely lower Illinois' creditworthiness to below investment grade if feuding lawmakers fail to agree on a state budget for a third straight year, increasing the amount the state will have to pay to borrow money for things such as building roads or refinancing existing debt.
The outlook for a deal wasn't good Saturday, as lawmakers meeting in Springfield for a special legislative session remained deadlocked with the July 1 start of the new fiscal year approaching.

"What has he done?" Not one EFFING thing. It was always understood that politics is the art of compromise. You give a little, you get a little. But then you get those "my way or the highway guys" whose ego causes them to focus on the opposition, not the goal of getting a program, or most of a program enacted. In the meantime, this guy has accomplished NOTHING.

He lacks the ability and imagination to create an atmosphere of building business and commerce. Instead he runs ads, year round, million dollar buys that do nothing but point the finger at Mike Madigan.

When all these pols got the idea that its fashionable to talk about transparency, this guy rides around on his motorcycle, travels to one of his 8 homes, and basically doesn't give a shit. Remember all those ads, with his wife, where he said he was going to "shake up Springfield" and "turn the state around" ? Well, we're still waiting.

It should be interesting to se what he's going to say in his campaign ads, should he choose to run, or even hope to get re-elected.

The Democrats are not compromising - they don't have to. They control the House and Senate and can do what they want. The media is the shield for Democrats.

Rauner is the problem? So lets put another liberal Democrat into the governor mansion. So the Democrats will run absolutely everything - and then there will be zero opposition to what they want to do. Great. They got us into this with their patented fiscal irresponsibility - and more taxes and spending will help? Look at every single other state that is successful. They are almost exclusively run by Republicans who implement the exact OPPOSITE of what Democrats have done here.
