BR 5k

Freedom isn't Free
The Freedom Isn’t Free 5K Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m., at Br. Rice High School, 10001 S. Pulaski Road.
The event will be held in memory of USMC CPL Conner Lowry and to raise scholarship money for the CPL Conner Lowry Scholarship Fund.
Before the race, Marines will lead Marine Corps Boot Camp style warm-up calisthenics. The Br. Rice band will perform a patriotic selection of tunes.
During the race, participants can enjoy the fast, flat course while checking out the neighborhood decorations along the route. Water stations and time clocks will be at every mile marker. Patriotic music will be played while runners/walkers cross the finish line.
Unique military challenge coin awards will be given to overall top three male and female winners along with overall finishers in each age category. After the run/walk, a social gathering and cookout for all race participants and non-runners will be offered. Guests are also invited to watch the Bears kick-off.
