Renaming LSD

likes the name Lightfoot better but will go with the name Beetlejuice for now

City Committee Postpones Hearing To Rename Lake Shore Drive For Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable

I disagree with the proposal to rename LSD after DuSable. We already have a school, a bridge, a fountain and a park named after Mr. DuSable. How much more honor can we bestow? How much more honor does Mr. DuSable deserve? I mean WTF did he do that was so great? Can somebody please answer that?

If the alderman feel an urge to rename LSD, I suggest the name "Beetlejuice Way" in order the commemorate the mayor's spectacular performance in reaction to Covid-19 and other events last summer. And while you're doing that, how about an ordinance allowing moving trucks on LSD so they can more easily access the downtown area.

A hearing to consider the ordinance, first introduced more than a year ago, is scheduled for Friday but no vote is expected.

On an issue of public interest, it shouldn't be left to 50 individuals to speak for the entire city. The do this shit without input from the taxpayers. Renaming Congress Parkway, removing Columbus statues., etc. As a side note, isn't there more important things affecting the health of the city they should be working on, something that doesn't require us walking around with their hands in our pocket, reaching for our wallets?

Mr. DuSable has a school, museum, harbor, park and bridge named after him. Isn't that scrumptious?
