Politics Thicker Than Blood

One reason Groot got elected (aside from 30% turnout) was the media keeping her anti-police record under wraps. Veteran cops remember her operating within numerous corrupt "oversight" agencies, but the media (at the behest of Shortshanks and Rahm) kept it in the deep background.

Prickwrinkle's was on full display and now she continues to pander to the criminal element, presiding over meaningless symbolic resolutions:

• The Cook County Board of Commissioners overwhelmingly passed a symbolic resolution Thursday that supports diverting money from policing in the wake of nationwide protests demanding police budgets be defunded.
  
  The Justice for Black Lives resolution says in order to mitigate harm from law enforcement that “historically increased unaccountable violence inflicted on Black and Brown communities,” the county should “redirect funds from policing and incarceration to public services not administered by law enforcement that promote community health and safety equitably.”
  
  Fifteen out of the 17 commissioners signed onto the resolution introduced by Commissioner Brandon Johnson, D-Chicago, with one commissioner voting no and another voting present.

Among the "yes" votes for defunding sheriffs and the jail?

The Gainer name is known throughout law enforcement circles with many members serving honorably and in distinguished roles over the years. But evidently, voting in political lockstep with Prickwrinkle to defund the careers of numerous relatives takes precedence. How very sad.

Cook County States Attorney Kim Foxx

The States Attorney Kim Foxx appeared before the Cook County Board on Tuesday July 28, 2020. As part of a dog and pony show to justify her budget, she actually said "crime is down". Not one commissioner challenged that statement. In fact, not one commissioner asked her about her decreased number of prosecutions or about cutting her budget to reflect the decreased work load. Why? Because many of them have friends and relatives on her payroll. Cook County government is a dumping ground for patronage hacks. John Daley has more relatives on the Cook County payroll than anyone else. Where oh where is Michael Shakman and why isn't he on this?

Cook County Democratic commissioner John Daley who yesterday made a speech about the importance of defunding the Chicago police.  This is the same police that carted his silly ass all around the city for years. After that, he went to his office on Halsted and counted the commission checks from selling insurance to some of the suburban villages and their police departments. It's time to take a closer look at what this guy does on his days off. 

Cook County Democratic commissioner Bridget Gainer, who hails from a proud, very proud, police family; voted yesterday for a resolution to defund the Chicago police. And with that vote went four generations of a great family tradition. Her cousins now have to hang their heads in shame.
