The Democrats’ abandonment of the Jews

In 1984, David S. Wyman, a professor of history at Amherst College, published The Abandonment of the Jews: America and the Holocaust 1941–1945, in which he documented the degree to which leftist icons like President Franklin Delano Roosevelt were presented with irrefutable evidence of Jewish genocide and did nothing to stop the mass murder of six-million Jews in Hitler’s Europe.
Jewish leaders who were given an “audience” with FDR implored him, beseeched him to intervene in this unprecedented annihilation, and showed him graphic evidence of:

  • Jews being herded into asphyxiating cattle cars on their way to concentration camps,
  • Jewish infants and children being ripped from the arms of their parents,
  • Jews clawing at the walls of gas chambers until their last-gasp deaths.
But FDR did nothing! If there is blood on the hands of any politician in the last thousand years, it is on

Montana has about 1,400 Jews, Mississippi about 1,500, South Dakota 250. If I lived in any one of those beautiful states, I would not be writing this article. But I live in New York––home to about 1.8 million Jews––so the politics of being Jewish affects me and my family in a very existential––life and death––way.
The tangible reality for me is quite simple, as it should be for all Jews, given the fact that in a world of about eight billion people, we Jews are a miniscule 15 million, only about six million in the United States, eight million in Israel, and another one million around the world. That is equivalent to the proverbial drop in the ocean––making us particularly vulnerable targets of the politics of division and hate.
A PRESSING IMPERATIVE
If we Jews and our supporters don’t aggressively address the pandemic of anti-Semitism that is galloping around the globe and exploding here in America––rampant on college campuses, aided and abetted by a craven media that gives credibility to career hate-mongers like Louis Farrakhan and his ilk, and even contaminating the hallowed halls of the U.S. Congress, with more floridly hate-Jews/hate-Israel Democrats than ever before in history––then we know from our tragic history that annihilation could be right around the corner.

Atheists Rip Pence For Church Donation Appeal

Organized atheists, unlike most Americans who are nonbelievers, are more often than not driven by hatred of religion and the faithful. Their impulses are totalitarian: They would ban all religious expression if they could. A classic case is Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF).
FFRF has gone ballistic because Vice President Mike Pence recently implored Americans to make donations to their church, even if they cannot attend during the coronavirus crisis.
The atheists said that no American public official “should lend the power and prestige of their office to a particular church or to religion in general.” They even accused Pence of being un-American.
“Leveraging a global pandemic to drum up church donations is an egregious betrayal of the country’s founding principles in order to benefit religion.”
The atheists added that Pence “should not further encourage Americans to give their money to those who least deserve it.”
Their reasoning is bankrupt. Here are four reasons why.
First, Pence was exercising two of his First Amendment rights: freedom of speech and freedom of religion (religious expression is a core constitutional right). Even vice presidents maintain those rights.
Second, Pence did not order anyone to give to their church or offer new tax incentives if they did. His terms were purely volitional.
Third, what Pence said not only did not betray America’s founding principles, it affirmed them. Every president in American history has made public appeals expressing the critical role that religion plays in society, especially during times of adversity.
During the Civil War, Lincoln once told his secretary, “I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go.”
Similarly, William McKinley, struggling with his decision to seize the Philippines, said to a group of ministers, “I am not ashamed to tell you, gentlemen, that I went down on my knees and prayed Almighty God for light and guidance more than one night.”
Atheists like those at FFRF like to cite Jefferson as an example of a nonbelieving president who wanted an impregnable wall between church and state. They are badly educated.
When Jefferson was seen carrying a red prayer book, a skeptical citizen asked where he was going. “To church,” he replied. “Why, Mr. President, you don’t believe a word of it,” the citizen said.
Jefferson replied, “I, as the chief magistrate of this nation, am bound to give it the sanction of my example.” Jefferson also awarded the Kaskaskia Indians $300 so they could build a Catholic church. And all Pence was doing was asking Americans to give to their church!
Fourth, it is risible to read atheists tell the faithful not to give to their church because it will go to “those who least deserve it.” Every study on charitable giving shows that atheists are the least generous and religious Americans are the most generous.
From giving blood to providing food, clothing, and shelter to those in need, the churches, synagogues, mosques, and other houses of worship lead the way in donating goods and services to those in need.
God bless Vice President Pence for encouraging Americans to support their local religious institutions during this crisis.

A Chicago man who spewed racist words at a woman in a Cook County forest preserve last year was found guilty of two counts of a felony hate crime Wednesday.

The jury, which appeared to be all white, deliberated for about 3 1/2 hours before reaching the verdicts.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Eric Trump had, with a group of people, come into Aviary, an upscale lounge at 955 W. Fulton Market, Chicago, and the young woman–an employee of the establishment–came right up to him and spit in his face. Per an eyewitness, she murmured inaudibly something that sounded like it was anti-Trump. Then Secret Service agents who were there protecting Eric Trump jumped into action and took the woman into custody. She was put in handcuffs and placed in a police paddy wagon, a source with knowledge said. Eric Trump decided not to press charges against the woman in the end, and she was released from police custody.

Had she been held by CPD, it is doubtful she would have been prosecuted because......Cook County just doesn't do that kind of stuff.

What is going on in California?

There were reasons, way back when, that this nation became the United States of America,not the Republic of America. One of several factors that contributed to the thinking of the framers of our nation and the crafting of its Constitution was an unwritten understanding that we are all different. No two human beings in the entire world act alike, do alike, and think alike. That circumstance cannot be an accident. Similarities or resemblances maybe – but no carbon copies. (Even twins often have notable differences). How did that happen? Believers will tell you to ask "The Man Upstairs." The bottom line is we have had to accommodate ourselves as a nation to our differences and, however imperfectly, "live and let live."

So why don't we "just get along?"

As with so many other situations in life, we are much better at theory than in practice.

Comes now an edict from the state of California – which in this second decade of the 21st century in no way resembles the Golden State of Ronald Reagan's day. California has just added South Carolina to the growing list of states banned from state-sponsored travel.

And what, pray tell, was South Carolina's heinous crime?

(Gasp!) South Carolina law (according to an internet report) has been called out because it "enables" private faith-based adoption and foster care services to operate according to their religious beliefs. That, in the state of California's view of the world, adds up to "discrimination." Never mind that we all "discriminate" every time we make choices in life. And no, this in no way has the slightest resemblance to the widely abhorred "discrimination because of age, race, or ethnicity." Moreover, let us re-emphasize here that we are talking about private faith-affiliated entities, not those that derive money from the taxpayers at large or invite the general public to enter in order to conduct business transactions.

Private choices no longer allowed

That difference cuts no ice with Xavier Becerra, Attorney General of California, the self-defined "Golden State," where occasional rumblings are voiced these days by some of its denizens suggesting a possible future separation from the rest of the U.S. (Careful. In this era of the increasingly Dis-United States, one may hear invitations not to "let the door hit you on the way out.")

The California AG cites State Assembly Bill 1887, the 2017 state law that authorizes the denial of state-sponsored travel to South Carolina (as Mr. Becerra interprets it). Let us pause here to take a stand against "any form of discrimination," as it has been outlawed by Civil Rights statutes.

Yes, we fought a Civil War against slavery, but it also eventually led to a ban against publicly enforced race bigotry and related person-to-person offenses. That battle is behind us and has no bearing on what we're discussing here. Some people interpret anti-discrimination injunctions as mandating unisex restrooms in public places. Every well-crafted law takes into consideration two watch-words: Reason and Sanity. Without them, no credible law is worth the paper on which it is inscribed.

Again, we are talking about private faith-based entities. Good grief. Is nothing sacred? (No pun intended).

These extremist are pretty intolerant of anyone that doesn't agree with them. Reminds me of a former 19th ward politician.

Christian Bale made sure to make room for someone unexpected in his Golden Globesacceptance speech: Satan.
Accepting the award for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for his role as Dick Cheney in “Vice,” the actor thanked his wife, Sandra, the film’s director, Adam McKay, and the devil himself.
“Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role,” Bale said, an impish smile breaking out across his face.
He also hinted he might not be done playing Republican politicians just yet.
“What’d you think, Mitch McConnell next?” he told the whooping crowd at the Beverly Hilton. “That could be good.”

Actor Peter Fonda was accused of encouraging people to target the children of Border Patrol agents and ICE employees after he tweeted, “we should find out what schools their children go to.”
In an all caps rant, the younger brother of Jane Fonda tweeted, “WE SHOULD HACK THIS SYSTEM, GET THE ADDRESSES OF THE ICE AGENTS CBP AGENTS AND SURROUND THEIR HOMES IN PROTEST. WE SHOULD FIND OUT WHAT SCHOOLS THEIR CHILDREN GO TO AND SURROUND THE SCHOOLS IN PROTEST. THESE AGENTS ARE DOING THIS CUZ THEY WANT TO DO IT. THEY LIKE DOING THIS. FUCK.”
Fonda’s tweet was a backlash to the enforcement of a policy which dictates that children are separated from their illegal alien parents and held in child detention centers.
Many respondents to the tweet expressed their support for Fonda, although others said children shouldn’t be targeted.
“We don’t go after kids, any kids, ever,” tweeted one.
