Streets & San to be privatized?

soon to be gone

Mayor Lightfoot has been reviewing every city governmental function and has identified huge cost savings that can be achieved by privatizing Streets & Sanitation. Long a haven for patronage, there are private companies that can do it cheaper and better. A final decision will be made before month end.

No other reason for Privatization. It doesn’t save money and it will hurt the pensions even more.

She has a lot of Rahm holdovers, so it’s all starting to make sense.

  6. I know a lot of us who are not city employees complain about the job performances of some of the city departments, but picking on Streets & san is a mistake, by and large I think that they perform well

off topic: Ok, just saw this headline:
"Illinois Governor Mandates LGBT History Curriculum for Public Schools"

And the inclusion of this bit of tripe benefits who, exactly? With each passing day, the blob that Madigan oozed into the governor's mansion demonstrates how useless he is and underscores why he probably never had a legitimate job in his life. Please note I'm trying to keep the fat shaming to a minimum on this maximum Ahole

this is great, fire everybody in every department. That'll take care of the city's financial woes. Remember all the goo-goos that got excited when Richie reduced the city's work force by about 8000 with buyouts and early retirements. Do the math on this one. 8000 fewer pension contributors/and 8000 more pension recipients on top of everyone else that retired from city employment over the previous 10-30 years. There must have been a Vanecko clause in this equation somewhere.

I don't doubt they are looking to privitize Chicago Police too. It could happen next year. CFD is the only dept they won't privatize because......lets face it, when there is a real problem, who do they call?
