John McCain dead at 81. Am I supposed to feel bad?

A PEFECT ASS---- WHO STOOD FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
  • A man without any convictions, easily open to suggestion.
  • Like his father before him, was always for sale.
  • A media darling.
  • Mean spirited.
  • The son and grandson of Admirals, he enjoyed a privileged life and accepted white glove treatment while a POW.
  • In another era, would have been tried and convicted of treason, for his conduct as a  P.O.W. and as a U.S. senator.

I watched McGain grill former Sec of Defense Chuck Hagel at a hearing. Though once friends, McCain showed himself to be petty and vindictive in his questioning of Hagel. McCain's intent was clearly to humiliate his former friend, going above and beyond civil. The whole thing was mean spirited and I thought to myself, what a prick. There are still questions that remain whether or not the explosion on the aircraft carrier that killed more than 100 men was the result of McCain's hot-dogging it during practice take offs and landings from this ship. As for his days in the Hanoi Hilton, he got more mileage out of that than JFK did with PT109. Wish I could regard him as a patriot and a hero, but after its all said and done I find him to be a sore loser. Enjoy the dirt nap senator.

Years ago I worked for a guy who was a Korean war veteran. He often told me how vicious the treatment of the soldiers in this conflict were. During the course of the conversation something came up about commemorative license plates. He was truly astounded that any veteran worth his salt would display a license plate on his car that would indicate he was a former prisoner of war. According to him there was no honor in being captured and putting that on display on a personal vehicle represented a second personal failing, kind of like hanging on sign on yourself that said "LOSER".

And yet with the passing of Senator McCain, we note along with the goofy "Maverick" description of the senator, we also can point to McCain's career in politics which is a direct by product of his captivity. In recent years, the failure of this man to support his party and his president only underscores his jealousy and his previous failure to win the oval office, along with his vp pick Sara "I can see Russia from my backyard" Palin.

McCain turned his back on repealing Obamacare and sided with the late "Lion" of the senate, the philandering Teddy Kennedy. If you're truly known by the company you keep, I'd have to say this late son and grandson of Admirals, who finished near the bottom of his class at the naval academy, far exceeded and exploited any normal person's expectations of him. Many Americans will speak tributes regarding McCain and regard him as a hero, regrettably I'm not one of them.

Had no problem with bombing innocent civilians in Iran. Had no problem marching American youth to their deaths. A traitor to mankind.

Glad he's dead, if I'm ever near his grave I think I'm going to have the urge to take a piss.

Being the son of an Admiral his daddy had enough clout to cover it up!
