Leadership

Why can't the politicians from the 19th ward of Chicago be more like Trump? Say what is right and stand up for the best interest of the people that elected you.

Instead, we have gutless "leaders" like

Dart
Cunningham

and a few others.

Everyone knows who they are.

It seems that their primary interest is their multiple pension portfolio, getting government jobs for their relatives and parlaying their office to a higher office by making deals.
At the end of the day, the voters of the 19th ward can be
...........

New format beginning soon!

They along with at hundreds of 19th warders participate in these schemes and scams. They see government jobs and contracts as their reward for jumping on the 'who you know' wagon and have nothing but contempt for earning a living the old fashion way by learning something useful for the market. Double dippers along with familial dippers abound in the ward. Some receive pensions and have no idea what they did to receive their rewards. Others secure protected gigs ranging from attorney scams with the county to AFL union jobs in retirement.Others have lucrative security contracts at CPS and other government entities. All of these hustles are supported by the thousands of
voters who believe in this system. Most are outraged when there is a suggestion that perhaps one and all should sacrifice something to protect their government pensions.

I have to admit that the 19th Ward Dems have taken their eye off the ball. I haven't a clue what they stand for anymore.

Perhaps they should get on here and reaffirm their beliefs and goals.

I have to say, that from their actions we can clearly discern their beliefs and goals. They seem to believe in nothing traditional. They believe in control and power. Their goals seem to be to perpetuate the broken, failed overly taxed and regulated system they helped to create. All for the benefit and themselves and their friends, for money and power. We on the other hand exist to be manipulated, taxed and for our vote. To be forgotten the day after.

Have you heard about the Race War? It's being censored by the media, but maybe you caught the news on Rush Limbaugh's show — "In Obama's America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering" — or The O'Reilly Factor, or on the front page of the Drudge Report, or in Thomas Sowell's nationally-syndicated column, or on one of many blogs, like the Daily Caller. Or maybe you heard about it when you were beat up by one of our country's many roving mobs of black teens?

If nothing else you've probably noticed that "race relations are probably worse now among the average person on the street than they were the day President Obama was elected," as activist Ward Connerly tells McKay Coppins in Coppins' "In Conservative Media, A 'Race War' Rages," an excellent summary of the current state of conservative journalism. Connerly is filled with pearls of wisdom: "Obama has been more racial than any white president has ever been in my lifetime," he tells Coppins in an attempt to explain his perception of a current low ebb in American race relations. What a wonderful way of putting into words the conservative problem with Obama! He's more racial than other presidents.

But maybe you haven't experienced the Race War at all. Maybe you've somehow managed to avoid the dangerous gangs of black teens, flash-mobbing across the country in their insatiable search for white flesh. It's okay. I myself didn't know there was a Race War on until I read Sowell's most recent column and learned that "the authorities and the media seem determined to suppress" the plain fact that "the hoodlum elements in many ghettoes launch coordinated attacks on whites in public places." How frequently do these "coordinated attacks" take place? As McKay Coppins points out, Sowell's column doesn't "cite any statistics, relying instead on anecdotal evidence." But what anecdotal evidence:

[E]pisodes of unprovoked violence by young black gangs against white people chosen at random on beaches, in shopping malls, or in other public places have occurred in Philadelphia, New York, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Washington, Los Angeles, and other places across the country. Both the authorities and the media tend to try to sweep these episodes under the rug.
The local media might try to sweep these episodes under the proverbial rug, through its sophisticated false-flag tactic of "immediately and extensively covering these episodes," but the national media will have trouble ignoring them when we have intrepid minds like Sowell (once called "our greatest contemporary philosopher" by no less a thinker than David Mamet) on the case. So long as someone is willing to do the hard, boots-on-the-ground journalistic work of visiting the Drudge Report, the truth of the Race War will never go unknown.

It's not just Sowell, either. Bestselling author Bill O'Reilly is out there ready to expose the vicious cover up of white kids getting beat up in Obama's America — using his television program to push the story of Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami, two Norfolk journalists who were beaten by a mob (they escaped, thankfully, with only minor physical injuries); their paper, the Virginian-Pilot, initially declined to write a story about the incident. You be the judge: did the paper avoid writing the story for the reasons it outlined in this editor's memo? Or did it cover up the incident because the assailants were black?

Ask anyone who lived in neighborhoods of change in the mid 60's. The same shit happened. Ask anyone from St. Sabina about Frank Kelly, murdered by a roving gang of black teens shooting into a crowd of teens playing softball across from the Sabina Community Center at 78th and Racine.

Does anyone remember Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention when John Kerry and John Edwards were the presidential ticket? Remember when he started talking about "not blue states or red states but the United States"? Remember how everyone was mesmerized by the oratory that gave promise to a country united? Fast forward three presidential terms and look to this President's involvement in local government law enforcement. Look at his involvement and the involvement of his Attorney General in Ferguson, Missouri. The Justice Department coming into Ferguson and the blind eye given Michael Brown. How about his speech when he said that he could have been Travon Martin. How about the travesty of charging 6 Baltimore Police officers with murder. How about his sending representatives to the funerals of Freddie Gray, Michael Brown. And how about ignoring the state funerals of Margaret Thatcher, not one representative of this government attending the funeral of the late prime minister of our biggest ally?

As reported on Fox News, he has yet to recognize the term "radical Islam" when it comes to the beheadings of innocent hostages at the hands of ISIS? And what about the hero's welcome home he gave to the army deserter while at the same time ignoring the pleas to assist an army sergeant who wandered into Mexico and languished in a Mexican jail for more than six months?

These issues aside, how about Obamacare? And the business response to it. Think the economy is growing? Not with the number of part-time jobs versus full time employment. Thats not growth. The stimulus will saddle our grand children with debt that will having them trying to dig themselves out of an economic hole, only to find China at the top, holding the titles to everything we aspire to own, even our own homes.

This is a flawed presidency that stifles truth and exploits the media in helping them stifle it? The bend over backwards efforts of the media to be politically correct has been abused time and time again.

This is our great uniter? From all accounts, the electorate also turned a blind eye toward this president. We haven't learned from our mistakes and let this man drive the country over the cliff. We are more fractionalized than ever and the great uniter has a lot to do with it. So that's it. Is it any surprise the likes of Donald Trump, with little or no detail as to how he will solve these problems has such a commanding lead in the polls. It looks like the majority of those planning to vote in 2016 are looking for something to believe in...again.

I am curious what Fran Hurley , Bill Cunningham , Dart, and yes even Matt O'Shea think about funding for Planned Parenthood and the sickening reality of harvesting fetal parts for profit. They go on and on with the anti free market rhetoric of the local far left unions when it comes to every day businesses, but see no moral problem with an entity that performs heinous, barbaric acts, and sells human parts as their products...all for profit. Don't forget Hurley as she gladly pocketed the blood money of the PRO abortion liberal action groups. They don't stand up......because they don't believe - in what our heritage has believed. They are your typical sellouts. I for one, give them the stink eye when I have encountered them. But there are enough who will fawn all over them for the bobbles and shiny trinkets they can dispense.

Perhaps not. Hopefully not. But he has not been tested. If he is green lighted for a State Rep gig we will see. I have found that most of the new 19th Ward could care less about anything. They have nothing beyond their little fiefdoms that they care about. No qualms about jettisoning their Catholic faith nor do they even think about these things these days....all about the bank. And we are all to blame for supporting them. The many many who have done so. It has been experience that any pro life Democrat quickly kicks these "beliefs" off the playing field once they are in the big game. I hope - but I do not hold much hope, for any Democrat politician from the 19th Ward. From Maloney, and all that have come after him. All doctrinaire liberals if they show any set of values.

Matt supported Rahm 96% through 2014. Rahm is pro choice and pro gay and one has to understand that private convictions(i.e. pro life, traditional marriage)
must be se aside when one enters political office in Chicago/Cook county.
Chicago has for generations been a strong mayor weak council town with the exception of Harold's tenure which was silly at best. It works because O"Shea's constituents believe in this hypocritical system. Now we have Biden and he is the epitome of this.

I am writing to ask why Gov. Rauner continues to push his “Turnaround Agenda” before he talks or compromises on the budget? I would like to know what going after unions, property tax freezes, term limits and the rest of his agenda have to do with the budget. I don’t see House Speaker Michael Madigan or Senate President John Cullerton as the bad guys. I see you, Mr. Rauner, as the person holding back everything and everyone with your radical agenda.

Anyone who has paid any attention to the unbelievable abuse of our budgetary process, our borrowing as a state, our spending binge under the Democrats understand that some logical, rational limits need to be imposed. Our state is and has been imploding for about twelve years now. the Democrats had held ALL power in this state. Our state finances are in ruins, we have run up the debt to ungodly proportions. Now Rauner looks at ways to try and go after the causes of this current insanity and you think that is radical? Maybe your leftist Karl Marx quoting Union Rep told you that but they - Public Sector Unions - are a huge reason we have no money. Of course Madigan, Cullerton et al are not bad guys in your view....they give you the bacon. We - the tax PAYERS are sick of paying you way beyond your real worth. Get back to work in your government job and take your hands out of the taxpayers pockets. Your three hour lunch is over. So is the gravy train.

The governor’s office said Friday it was not extending her contract, once set at $30,000 a month, a decision announced the same week that Rauner’s hand-picked comptroller said she couldn’t comply with a court order to pay disability payments because of a “severe cash shortage.”

Just Thursday, the governor’s office dismissed a published report that Arduin was leaving, say the administration was reviewing whether to extend her contract, which stirred a backlash on social media and elsewhere.

The lengths Dart goes to trying to be popular with the inmates at "His" jail is sickening, especially for somebody who goes out of his way to screw with his employees. The remarkable thing is that nobody has kicked his ass yet. Maybe when the lawsuit regarding his late father's estate is settled, we can count on his sister to do it.

He should forget about law enforcement and go into social work. We've seen him you tubed talking about how he screws employees by sending them to the outer reaches of the county, we've seen him digging up cemeteries, looking for more Gacy victims, of course the numerous puppy mill rescues, the lawsuits against adult service advertisements, we've seen him refuse to accept arrestees awaiting who are to be processed by customs and immigration, we've heard the stories about his allowing transgendered arrestees the option of who they would like to be housed with....now just how much more slack do you think he should get? His responsibilities are to staff the jail and courtrooms, patrol unincorporated areas of the county, process evictions, serve summons for court. All of these duties, which he took an oath to perform have taken a back seat to his public relations media circus. And for Christ sake its not "HIS" jail, certainly not as long as he doesn't do "HIS" job.

His proximity to Obama will assure all of us that he will never be president. Sharing the leftist ideology of the current president is not something any practical (or honest) politician would go around bragging about. Speaking of his Obamaness, on foreign policy issues, he's regarded as the worst president the country has ever had. But out of curiosity, what is it exactly that the United States gets for the 100 Billion dollars Iran is going to get from us as part of the treaty that Kerry and the chubby little guy with the 70's haircut negotiated (if you call that negotiating) for us?

ASHLAND, Ky. — A federal judge ordered a Kentucky clerk jailed for contempt of court because of her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, the New York Times is reporting.

The clerk, Kim Davis of Rowan County, was jailed after a hearing before Judge David L. Bunning of Federal District Court. The contempt finding was another legal defeat for Ms. Davis, who has argued that she should not be forced to issue licenses that conflict with her religious beliefs.

“The court cannot condone the willful disobedience of its lawfully issued order,” Judge Bunning said. “If you give people the opportunity to choose which orders they follow, that’s what potentially causes problems.”

Judge Bunning said Ms. Davis would be released once she agreed to comply with his order and issue the marriage licenses.
