This post has been updated.
Chief Keef has a new baby boy, and he’s already hard at work promoting Keef’s upcoming double album, “Bang 3.”
Enter two-month-old Sno FilmOn Dot Com Cozart. No, really, that’s what Keef — whose real name is Keith Cozart — has named his fifth child.
Weird? Yes. Genius? Absolutely.
Keef’s spokesman told DNAinfo Chicago that without a doubt, the baby’s name is a marketing tool. While Owen Phillips declined to comment on the first name, Sno, he
said the unusual middle name is “to promote” the rapper’s upcoming album, slated for release in September.
“Alki David has announced that Chief Keef and his newest baby mama have agreed to name the newborn Sno FilmOn Dot Com Cozart in order to promote the release of Sosa’s double album Bang 3 with FilmOn Music and MondoTunes on September 18,” Phillips said in an e-mail. He declined to comment further beyond the statement.
FilmOn is the label owned by David.
After this post was initially published, David released an updated statement addressing paternity issues surrounding the baby.
It turns out that FilmOn Dot Com might not end up being the baby’s name after all.
Per ABC 7:
“In light of new developments disputing that Chief Keef is the father of Baby Sno, the streaming TV and music platform FilmOn.com is retracting the right to let the mother, Lauren Woods, use the middle name FilmOn Dot Com until paternity is settled. We wish Ms. Woods all the best,” David said in a written statement.
