Sen. Bill Cunningham - self centered knob.

Cunningham's car blocking a handicapped ramp.
The above photo is of State Senator Bill Cunninghams's campaign car. The photo was taken on 9: 50 P.M. July 3, 2014 in the parking lot of Ridge Country Club and was sent to this blogger by an eye witness.

It seems that Bill Cunningham participated in the Evergreen Park July 4th parade and then drove to Ridge Country Club to relax with his peers. The problem arose when he decided to park near the front door instead of a regular spot in the parking lot. Don't you know he is the SENATOR and will not be treated like a regular member. So he parks the car immediately adjacent to the front door blocking a wheelchair ramp. A group of senior citizens who had entered hours earlier via the ramp, was leaving and was told that they had to use the stairs. While attempting to negotiate the stairs at least two of them tumbled to the ground. After that quite a large group assembled to help the remaining senior citizens down the stairs. One of the seniors was so mad he went up to Cunningham's car and hit the left front fender with his cane.

This is an prime example of what Senator Cunningham thinks of his constituents. "The people can be damned". That attitude explains why he votes for all kinds of crap that is contrary to the interest of this neighborhood.

Damn you Senator Cunningham.

I was at ridge that night with my husband and three sons, it was after the evergreen park parade.
Mr. Cunningham was at ridge with friends trying to relax after the taxing business of running state affairs and participating in support for a community event,, again doing community service to our neighbors and on his own time, he isn't getting paid to support the community as these parades, he does it because of his love for the community!.
I did hear about the slight commotion outside, it was actually only one guy who feel.. so lets not exaggerate and he was fine by the way.
the parking lot was jammed as is typical for the 4th celebration at ridge and Cunningham is a local official, I don't see why certain accommodations for our Senator is such a huge deal.

The driver of this car was a low level sheriffs dept employee who has nothing to do with Senator Cunningham. He is going to be disciplined for this.

    3. That's a reasonable explanation, thank you. While I am disgusted by Cunningham's pro-sodomy vote, I'd hate to seem him blamed for someone else's foolishness.

unlike the above "likely Cunningham staffer" trying to spin this issue, I was Actually there at Ridge country club, and yes there were three seniors in their late seventies early eighties.. walking out that got tangled up when they had to back up, it was two men and a woman.
one of the men that fell and split open his forehead above his right eye, pretty deep and bleed a great deal, he refused an ambulance to be called.

this did in fact cause great commotion within the club as word spread to the inside, Bill Cunningham never came out to offer apology or show any level of concern, Johnny O did come out and assess the situation for a short moment and then darted back into Ridge.
Their was a very nice Hispanic young man who worked at ridge, he sourced several towels and some ice and water for the injured patron, he also was kind and walked the senior woman, who was very shaken up, to her minivan.

I was VERY surprised that Mr. Cunningham never once came out to apologize, but rather remained at the bar.
finally being an elder person myself, I can attest as you age we do lose our ability to maintain a steady gate with the passing years, folks really shouldn't park or block handicapped spots.
      Al

    in a previous statement ...
Cullerton and Billy Cunningham all voted a sneaky little bill into law this year which allows you to register ON ELECTION DAY !! This is designed to introduce chaos into the entire voting procedures. I have worked the polls many times. It is hard work. People will show up and be given ballots and the DemocRATS will use these ballots as back up votes in case Rauner wins....This must be stopped and Rauner and his people should have been aware of this. Also we need to get traditional minded Republicans and Democrats to sponsor a referendum to call for MANDATORY IDs when voting. You have to show an ID for EVERYTHING ELSE. This is how they plan to steal yet another election. So you can sit home and watch the game on TV while we all are "gamed". OR you can get up....and DO something. IT is getting very late in their "game" and we are behind folks. They are organizing the rabble while we sit back and complain. Get involved some how. even if you just give some money....anything....but they need help. with boots on the ground The DemocRATS have their paid people who can call in to work and still make their salary while they help the 1960's radicals complete their "fundamental transformation" of our country. Don't think you need to be an expert....just drop off literature...you don't need to debate with homeowners....Wake up EVERYONE...not just Rauner....P.S. Grow a pair....get a sign ....and put it on your yard....

He clearly thinks he can do whatever he wants, because his buddies will protect him. Big surprise Cunningham went to a country club after having to be among the riffraff at a parade, I'm surprised he even stayed in the neighborhood. I hope he wasn't too off put by the help when they served him his champagne spritzer.

Funny this guy was at a country club after he voted last year to give huge tax breaks to another private Chicagoland country club. Country clubs are obviously higher priority than the people like us that he represents.
Thanks Bill Cunningham for leaving us out to dry. We are all sick of people like Cunningham who run around only thinking of themselves. Voting to raise his own pay and moving our police and fire friends, family and neighbors onto Obamacare all while he's enjoying the perks of receiving two pensions.

Look - I'm a lifelong Democrat, but this year we have got to stop being taken for granted and vote guys like Cunningham out of office.

Cunningham is just another guy that put in his time, got lucky and is now living it up and taking full advantage of all the perks that he can find. He gets lucky and Pat Quinn rewards him by making him a top aide to boost his resume before running for the Senate. This is shameful

... trying to figure out why the reactionaries on this blog have target their ire against Cunningham when there are such better targets for this venom:

    1) Mike Madigan.
    2) Lisa Madigan.
    3) John Cullerton.

Let's limit it to three for now.

Just using the term "reactionary" outs you as a typical left wing Socialist who reads Marxist inspired literature. Reactionary is one of the favorite terms used by the International Socialist-Communist movement. I will use another of their words to describe liberal progressives like you by the Commies themselves....they always called you types "useful idiots".

You do have a point that those folks you list are more powerful but this IS a blog called "19th Ward BlogSpot". Don't you think it might make sense for a blog about the 19th Ward to deal with representatives from this area?

^^^ That's why we have to vote for this kid Shaun Murphy. great Irish name and won't have to work for Madigan and Cullerton who force guys like Cunningham to vote for whatever they need. I voted for Cunningham last election because he seemed like a nice enough guy, but I'm sick of not being represented when instead Cunningham and Fran do whatever Mike Madigan and Pat Quinn tell them to do to get the needed votes. Also give Murphy a lot of credit for working hard in Mt. Greenwood, I'm not sure the last time I saw a republican in this area.

  21. I wonder how many people in our ward will have the balls to put a Murphy sign on their lawns.
we have been fucked by the cast of our current Pols for a few decades now, sadly we continue our insane pattern of re-voting them back into office.
nothing changes, they come knock on our door and "us stooges" or useful idiots( <-like that line) go out and vote for them.
they have no regard for us, they shorted all of our union benefits, shorted our pensions, pushed our retired parents/ city workers off of their pensions onto Obama care. and mark my word a great deal many of you ball-less fucks will vote for them AGAIN,
good thing is I have seen Shaun Murphy on two occasions Mt. green wood park working it, Ridge park it and at many other community/fairs events. but what really got my attention AND RESPECT was when my door bell range 3 weeks ago and there he was in person "hey im shaun murphy and I am a republican, im here in Mt. Greenwood because, I don't take you or your vote for granted!"...guess what Murphy gets my vote and seems like plenty of my 0ther CFD buddies I have talked about this with.

  25. The differences between Cunningham and Murphy are astounding.
Cunningham is pro choice, in favor of gay marriage and gay sharing of pension funds, in favor of marijuana.
Murphy is pro life, not in favor of gay marriage, in favor of adequate pension funding and not in favor of marijuana legalization.

The proper choice could not be clearer.
