Guess which 19th Ward politician is getting a new street this week?

They're out there this week.

guess who?
Guess Who?
Guess?

How is it that this block was selected for a new street when so many blocks around there also need new streets? What is the criteria for a new street?

Go to 115th place west of Longwood Drive. They would like a new street. They would like to get some curbs too.

How about using some of that money to get the dead ash trees taken down? Or must we continue to use our limited resources for the pleasure of the elite.

  2. Sheriff Tom Dart complained that the pot holes on his block caused his hemorrhoids to hurt when he ran over them with his sheriff's car.... So Tommy and just Tommy's block is getting new streets! Amazing!!!!

They have an index of 1 to 100. Any street with a score of 90 plus is eligible for replacement. Darts street has been a 99 for the past 10 years.

And then the Gas Company will come rip it up in September? Or Kenny Construction for the sewers?

Thanks for the clarification Sheriff Dart. However, how many other streets had that score but did not get replaced?

The gas company does a better job of patching than does the water department.

I do not know. I think Dart is one of the few "elected officials" I can say I respect. I think this criticism of Dart is beyond silly. My street is luckily fine.

... anyway, let me know when we can discuss real, actual, and substantive issues.

    Thank you.

This power play is not silly. It is an example of clout in action.

I am glad your street is fine, but if you drive anywhere in our Ward you should be able to tell how crappy most of the streets are. Of course we had a bad winter, but we are constantly on the losing end of resources. Supposedly our Ward has good connections. Could have fooled me. Most of the aristocracy have moved out. Dart is a rich snooty liberal. East coast educated and lineage is one of staggering political clout. Do some research for a change and you will know something about the ward. Or just move to Hyde Park or Bucktown. City services are real and substantive issues to regular folk. I hear there is a seminar on income inequality somewhere on the north side

This came out of downtown. Didn't involve O'Shea.
