Morgan Park Sports Center

No BS, Hard Worker
Alderman O'Shea should be commended for getting this project off the ground after 15 years of false starts.

Only the special interest groups and the insiders will benefit.

The rest of us will be inconvenienced by the closing of 115th Street.

How come we never discuss the Park Grille? Not enough 19th ward connections involved?

I do not think the youths east of the DR have any interest in the sports featured at this new Sports Center. The 19th Ward kids who have to cart themselves to God knows where in order to play ice hockey will truly benefit. We complain that we have nothing good in this ward. When someone brings a new restaurant to liberal Beverly it is heralded as a good thing. But too many of the Liberal Democrat Obama lovers do not seem to love their fellow Democrats of a darker complexion. They don't like actually rubbing elbows with them apparently. This holds true to what I have experienced where super liberal Democrat true believer knee jerk 19th Ward suck up dyed in the wool types spout the most ignorant and racist crap imaginable. They are the racists. They have color on the brain.

A job well done by Matt. I can and have been critical of the 19th Ward mentality on this blog and of Matt himself, but this is good. He has at least welcomed some good improvements such as Beggars and Horse Thief and Home Run Inn. Folks you have to GO to these places. If you say we have nothing, and then when we get something you don't go there, then you cannot complain. Support the local businesses. They are part of the glue that keeps this area strong.

Amen. Matt has done a wonderful job in bringing these places to the neighborhood - the rest is up to you. Go out and support them and go out and support Matt - he gives his soul to this place!

I noticed Mr. O'Shea was NOT one of the alderman asking for an IG's investigation of the red light camera scandal. What held him back?
