Cameras

Speed cameras, red light cameras, think about it. Is this what government is coming to? Is this what we want our government doing?

There is something very undemocratic about these cameras. I think the whole concept is sneaky and borders on being underhanded. Are these cameras really by the people and for the people? If government really needs this kind of money, perhaps they need to rethink their role.

Your thoughts please.

If the cameras improve street safety by forcing people to follow the rules of the road, I don't see the problem. Any chance they can come up with something that forces driver to put down their phone and Big Mac while driving?

with illegal emigrants flooding the country and now giving them drivers lic, same sex marraige, unquestioned welfare give aways, the question of what happened in Bengasi where the us ambassador was taken out analy raped had human waste shoved down his throat and dragged behind a car, this camera situation should be the least of our worries oh and all the above were the gleannings courtesy of the Democratic party, better wise up people....

Those atrocities brought to you by the leftist Socialist Democrat Party are all designed to ruin the country and the results will be a Police State....maybe a polite Police State, but a Police State nonetheless. I was at Garfield Boulevard the other day and they have a speed camera supposedly for the park...I saw the camera flash EIGHT times in about 60 seconds....wait til we all start getting nailed by these electronic speed traps! If and when I get one of these I will sincerely take my concerns to the 19th Ward. I will let them know that this is bull**** ! ! I do not have an extra $100 dollars lying around to cough up for this...it is crappy and it is treating us like chumps....If Matt O'Shea is not going to speak out against these - then I will HAVE to oppose him and vote for anybody else next time around. It is not like there was some huge string of kids being run over near parks and schools so don't tell me the REASON is for safety. Because I DON'T believe that....almost no one with a fully functioning brain does either

If it's really about the children there should be flashing yellow lights operating.

New signs were installed last week. Now there is a school zone speed limit of 20 mph, when children are present. Kinda vague. Don't you think? Nobody should ever go through these zones over 20 mph. Ever.

BLAH BLAH BLAH....all of you 19th warders will continue to vote for the Democrat candidates you are told to.
you are all victims of your own stupidity.

you voted for democrats for alderman, state rep, state senate, governor, US senate, Congress and president, they have run things for 40 years.
    we are broke, busted.
your local leaders just voted to allow the state to take YOUR PENSION dollars back from your accounts if they need the funds. Do you think they will need those funds.
and by the way Hurley Burke and Cunningham all voted for that last week.

I end with a reaffirmation, You...not me anymore I voted republican last election, but "you Democrats" of our ward are all very stupid for not waking up.

let me know how your pensions and that of your retired: mothers and fathers policemen, firefighters, teachers, city & county workers, pension accounts getting reduced works out for you?

Kind of an especially snotty post and you obviously do not quite get the whole point of THIS blog. We are for the most part - JUST LIKE YOU and that is WHY we are on this blog. I have been living in this ward for years and always vote Republican even in the primaries....and another misnomer of your post - you are assuming that EVERYONE in the 19th Ward is a government employee or union member....The majority of us are NOT. Just like everyone in Texas does not like Republicans - not EVERYONE in the 19th Ward supports Democrats.

I used to vote Democratic here in the 19th ward until Hynes threw me under the bus back in 1994. Haven't voted Democratic since and have discussed the whole issue with many people I know out here. Can't help but think it didn't have a little effect on Danny's glideslope.

      Again Thanks Tom.

What's the difference in getting stopped by a cop or getting "stopped" by a camera? Don't speed.
