STATE REP. IVES ON PENSION BILL: "SOMETHING A ROGUE NATION, RUN BY DESPOTS, WOULD DO"
SPRINGFIELD - During the House floor pension debate Tuesday, State Rep. Jeanne Ives (R-Wheaton) challenged Speaker Mike Madigan's SB 1's wording concerning the 401k option. The language she questioned reads "the System shall be entitled to recover the amounts in the participant's defined contribution accounts":
"That to me sounds like something a rogue nation run by despots would do - they would take private property and put it back into a plan," Ives said.
Madigan reacted initially with one word: "Whoa!" See a brief portion of the exchange below. More is HERE:
This has been the plan for some time, but try to tell people and they roll their eyes and laugh.

Yeah, they want to manage your retirement as well as they have social security.
Like building an Ice Arena/Gymnastics facility on the taxpayers dime, the government and local politicians are only too happy to spend your money.
Beverly Arts Center, Borders, how about ANOTHER pizza joint on the southside.
Still don't get it? Ask the residents of Bridgeview how they feel about their taxpayer funded soccer stadium that has them $200 Million in debt and raised their property taxes twice with a third hike coming!
We eat our young.
