I have literally been so busy that I have not had an opportunity to post here at all. I want to talk about Obama's decisive victory and the Republican party's devastating defeat.
Nevertheless, this issue is one of the more important ones as far as I am concerned. But there are two other issues that I think would have more far-reaching impact on reforming politics than anything:
1) Open primaries (not semi-open or semi-closed primaries); and
2) Redistricting or gerrymandering (no more fiefdoms of agreement).
Term limits is an important issue. But I think a more effective approach to accomplish the same goal includes a fully open primary for third-party candidates.
Redistricting has created these snake-like fiefdoms in which we have the illusion of choice. Only on occasion will a truly competitive race exists.
