Frightened Candidates

Frightened Candidate #1
Frightened Candidate # 2
2 out of the 3 Democratic candidates have declined the opportunity to present their positions at the public forum this Monday night. Cunningham has a scheduling conflict since the Cartoon Network is having their best of the best show and he has to get his trick or treat costume ready. Hurley is going to be busy working her payroll job that evening. Kelly Burke, being the class act that she is, has agreed to be there.
A week before the election and these 2 people are going to try to slip in without saying a word to anyone. They are frightened as to having to answer questions that they may not have answers to.  And you wonder why we have problems that can't be fixed.

What? Candidates for State Senate District 18, State House District 35, State House District 36, will discuss the current issues.
When? 7:00 PM October 29, 2012.
Where? Parkwood Baptist Church 11333 S. Central Park Chicago.

The event will be moderated by Pastor Thorin Anderson of Parkwood Baptist Church and will be broadcast live on cable TV.

Murph - last week or so when you mentioned this upcomining forum and many people commented that the Democrats would not show up, others said "Fran will be there". I invite those people to explain why Fran and Cunningham do not feel that is proper for them to be there. Or why it is not necessary that they face their opponents one on one. I will tell you what I think - "scared that they may be called to task for their knee jerk support of the Democrat Party radicalism and Mike Madigan. Their ultimate votes for support of any tax hike Madigan may decide is necessary - along with the radical social agenda of abortion on demand and homosexual marriage. I invite you all to tell that neighbor of yours with a Fran sign that she is afraid of debate and takes us all for granted on election day. If she wont talk now - before she even has the job - it is a strong indication that she has contempt for all of us. I say call her office and ask why she is ducking this forum

I dont understand the constant attacks on Madigan. He is doing his best with the crap people that are being elected. Cunningham and Hurley? Come on. These people are not deep thinkers. You need people with some intellectual ability there.

If you can't handle a simple public forum, maybe political office should not be your career ambition.

Hey Matt O'Shea. Are these people the best that you can do? This reflects poorly on you.

The fact of the matter is ,people don't pay enough attention to local politics. The 19 Ward is filled with city workers who don't wont to rock the boat.
I would feel embarrassed to vote for miss Hurley and Mr Cunningham. Don't get me started on Mr oshea.
I heard that local 130 wont send there political action team to the 19 the Ward because o Shea and Hurley rehab there offices with none union workers????.
    Enough said if its true

Damn right they're frightened. You would be too if you were pushing gay marriage and abortion. Besides being just plain wrong does anyone realize what effect gay marriage will have on our pensions? Abortion advocates? I'm not voting for these people.

  12. In a reversal of opinions from some prior years, the Gallup Poll for Oct. 26, 2012 indicates that 50 percent of Americans now call themselves "pro life" to only 41 percent who call themselves '"pro-choice." In addition, those who think abortion is "morally wrong" out-number those who think it is "morally acceptable" by a margin of 51 percent to 38 percent. Those who take the most extreme position that abortion should always be legal in all circumstances are also losing ground to only 25 percent. Most people opt for legal only under certain circumstances.

I am pro life and also feel that a woman has a right to do whatever she wants with her own body. BUT if a woman consents to sex with a man and gets pregnant, then a woman should NOT have a right to terminate the baby's life.
In cases of of rape and incest there can be no consent. Therefore, a woman should not be forced to deal with consequences of actions forced upon her.
In horribly tragic situations where a Mother's life is in jeopardy, then the Mother should be allowed the unenviable and sorrowful right to make her own decision.

The statistics for women who are raped and become pregnant or women whose lives are in danger if they carry a pregnancy to term, are almost ZERO. Statistically they do not even register without a bunch of zeros in front of the percentage mark. So we are talking about hypothetically near zero probablities. There are exceptions to EVERYTHING in life. Most Pro-Life people would agree. However abortion as a matter of convenience, or abortion as birth control, or sex selection is morally reprehensible. It is - IN FACT - bloody murder. A life is destroyed. The DemocRATS are in bed with the abortion industry to the point where they oppose even safety inspections and regulations of abortion clinics and procedures. This is probably the only time they OPPOSE regulations. It is the only industry they support FULLY. When babies are being birthed and are destroyed and you support that - you are sick.

Even if you take the "morally wrong" issue out of the abortion question, it is wrong on an equitable basis. If a man impregnates a woman and she has the child, the man is forced to support the child even if the man doesn't want the child. The Father of an unborn child should have the right to sue a woman, who became pregnant through consensual sex, to prevent his baby from being murdered.

If anyone needs a new sidewalk, talk to Fran. She just got a brand new city sidewalk in front of her house. I'm sure she'll get one for you too.

This shows you their arrogance. They have been in control for 15 years, complet control of our State. Look at the numbers and what they have done to our great State and then tell me you think Fran Hurley has even the remotest knowledge or experience in her background that would tell us she is the person to elect.

I guess everybody was wrong about Fran. She actually does have the ability to get things done in the ward.FOR HERSELF.

Then why is the 19th Ward Democrat machine always putting up IRish candidates? And regarding abortion, the 19th Ward is one of the most heavily Catholic areas of greater Chicagoland, which is also one of the largest Catholic Archdiocese in America. There are ALOT of Catholics and as Murph posted above, the Catholic position is much closer to the "mainstream" than the Democrat abortion on demand, abortion is a holy rite, and by the way we want you all to pay for it. There is really ONE issue where Obama (who voted "present" to a ridiculous level to avoid taking any controversial positions) where Obama stands tall. That position is supporting the Abortion industry 100% - even to the point of arguable infanticide (to you pro-choicers that means killing a "baby" outside the womb). Obama is a strong supporter of partial birth abortion. That is where the baby is partially delivered and murdered as it is being delivered. Who is the fanatic?

Abortion is the high holy sacrament of the Democratic Party. It is the litmus test by which any candidate is evaluated in order to determine the Party's support. You are missing the point- if you want to claim to be Catholic and get all the perks that go with it HERE in th 19th Ward, where we are HEAVILY Catholic - then the least you could do is support the most fundamental human rights issue of our time. 50 million babies have been sacrificed in our country. Ho hum the Democrats say...

Decent candidates ? Fran Hurley's credentials are as thin as you can get. If these candidates the Republicans have are so bad, why not show up and debate? If they were so weak, then why be so underhanded as to support lawyers coming in and kicking them off the ballot? The truth is the only reason our area has gone along with the drift to the far left of the Democrats is that they hold the most important power : JOBS !

So if the candidate is from the suburbs that is not acceptable? The Districts run largely outside Chicago, so why should it matter?

Cunningham does have experience and background. I will admit. And I know them both and find them to be good people. I unlike you, have met and talked to both of the Republican candidates. I have looked at their backgounds and positions and find them much more in sync with my own. More in sync with my family and parents and grandparents, all who were south side Irish Catholic Democrats. I look at Hurley and Cunningham's positons on welfare, taxes, regulations, abortion, and homosexual marriage and wonder what happened to the Democratic Party my family once supported. Make no mistake, Bill Cunningham and Fran Hurley were out there pushing Quinn to the unions telling us that we needed him in there to "save" the pensions from the evil Republicans - and look what they did. Also that nice SIXTY SEVEN PERCENT INCREASE in our personal taxes during a horrible recession - that was a kick in the crotch to the "working families" of the 19th Ward!
Sorry but until you guys moderate your positions you will get no votes from our "working families". And p.s. - EVERY family is a working family.

With your rubber stamp they will continue to rob and tax your standard of living until there is nothing left. Stop kidding yourselves. I'm dumbfounded by the number of Hurley, Cunningham, and Union signs I see. Your homes are upside down, your pension fund is broke, and yet you continue to stand in line for these guys. As ye sew, so shall ye reap. 2013 will be a bitter harvest. And you have no one to blame but yourselves.

These people are, to paraphrase Obama "clinging to their jobs, and their religion". Their religion of course, is the Democrat Party, or more accurately, what they THINK is the Democratic Party of yesteryear. It is no longer your Father's Party. This is the party where in recent years they have booed the Boy Scouts, booed referencing God in their platforms, and urged the US in a time of fiscal chaos - to fund abortion.

These 19th Ward union and Democrat supporters are like the people dancing in the ballroom of the titanic as it sinking into the icy cold sea. When they have lost their jobs, their houses, are divorced and drunk sitting at the bus stop they will know who to blame....George Bush of course.

Thanks for deleting my post. The truth hurts doesn't it? I'll be back after the election to laugh at all of you. In the meantime just keep posting about the fringe candidates and Mitt. It won't help their pathetic vote totals but I guess it makes you feel less helpless.
