  3. Amazing that Biden actually had the nerve to bash Romney for correctly calling it on the terrorist attack in Benghazi a month ago.

Especially when you consider that Biden's administration lied about it for weeks about many details.

  4. Amazing, yet predictable, that Ryan bashes stimulus money and yet requests it for his own purposes.

    1. Nothing wrong with that or hypocritical. The "stimulus" passed and the money was there. The horse was out of the barn, so why not ride it?

    2. I think we have a fundamental disagreement on the meaning of the word "hypocritical."

I think it was a foregone conclusion that old Joe would come out swinging. Unfortunately it was a national debate for the second highest office in the land, not a barroom argument. If it were in Cork & Kerry old Joey might have won over the locals. He came off as kind of unhinged and unstable..smirking, laughing, thenangry, fidgeting, interrupting constantly and finally running out of gas like the old timer that he is. Repeating things two and three times for "effect".
To me it was theatrical and old Joe ain't never gonna win no Golden Globe...Or as my old uncle Billy told me..."Little Joey... always remember that those REpublicans are rascals Joey...so don't ever give em a chance to talk Joey...cuz if you do, some of that Republcan voodoo might rub off on em....Joey".

The only purpose for those two being there was to win the election. The only way to win was to win over the truly undecideds. Biden was snarly and angry, and probably turned off the undecideds. So in that respect he lost. I kept thinking that this guy tends toward emotional outbursts....and he is one heart beat away from the Presidency ? Scary....I agree he looked like he ran out of gas in the last twenty minutes...kind of like Grandpa gets when it is past his bedtime. Yesterday's news and still he is a punch line.

Biden says the intelligence in Libya got it wrong, but the same guys tell him Iran is no where near being able to make a nuke?
Biden says he voted against Iraq and Afghanistan, but the record shows he voted for both.
Biden says the democratic economic plan won't tax any couple earning less than a combined $250k, but his own budget office says under $125k.
Biden, the good catholic that he is, wants to make sure liberal judges are appointed to the supreme court in order to protect abortion.
Biden is nothing more than another career political crony operative, enriching himself at the public trough.

Biden may have dominated by constantly interrupting showing a disregard for the process and rules - kinda like the Democrats do whenever they are in control and have the power. Despite that the winner of the debate is the one who was able to best advance the goal of the debates - which was to sway undecideds. I think Biden just gave the liberals what they wanted to see - but he turned off many undecideds as well as women.

I heard one explanation for old Joe's strangeness: Maybe when they were drilling the holes for the plugs for his hair transplant they drilled a little too deep. To me he looks fake altogether. He clearly has that Joker face lift - fake teeth for sure - and of course the above mentioned hair transplant.

It is interesting how the analysis is almost always on performance and not on substance. It is a reality show, and I find it dull, like most reality shows. Therefore, I will try to focus here on substantive issues.

Let me preface my comment by stating that it is amazing to me that people like Ryan are able to attain elected office. He exploits unsophisticated or low-information voters on issues from abortion to gay marriage to flag burning.

    A. FISCAL POLICY (TAXATION)

His tax policies are wildly . . . immature. He will utterly destroy the credit rating of the United States by eliminating the capital gains. Eliminating the dividend taxes. Eliminating the estate tax. Reducing the TOP tax rate to around 9%; that is a 75% tax reduction for the TOP income earners.

But he will make up for these cuts and reductions by slamming us with a "consumption tax" and dismantling our institutions of Social Security and Medicare.

Of course, it gets worse. He supports billions of dollars in tax breaks for the oil industry.

I mean, how does a guy like this get elected? My theory is that he exploits low-information voters; there can be no other way.

    B. TARP + BAILOUT

I am not exaggerating. Repeat: not exaggerating. Someone please—in the name of God, Reason, Allah, or all of the above—explain to me how someone who voted in favor of the reckless Wall St. bailout is a "fiscal hawk"? Seriously.

Keep in mind that prior to rescuing the biggest Wall St. banks, he voted to deregulate them.

Ryan is dangerous on economic issues and spending.

    C. RYAN IS ROMNEY'S FOIL

I may just be an ordinary person who lives in Mt. Greenwood, but I believe the Romney campaign used cold calculation in its selection of Paul Ryan. Since Romney has literally—and I mean literally—taken opposite and contradictory positions on every issue, he is able to return to the middle/center.

Ryan, however, is an irresponsible government taxer/spender and ultraconservative on social issues. He is on the Romney ticket to get that low-information voter. Ryan's own math is wrong (at best); it is more likely fabricated.

I doubt this strategy is going to work. It is not bad per se, but I do not think the public is this foolish to vote so far against its own economic/fiscal interests.

    1. Corrections, corrections...

"His tax policies are wildly . . . immature."

They are very mature. He wants to spend the money wisely, and stop stealing more from the American people. This is in stark contrast to the naked greed of the Democrats, who keep insisting on overtaxing everyone. Greed is an infantile emotion/weekness. Biden is not above it.

"He will utterly destroy the credit rating of the United States by eliminating the capital gains.'

He will increase capital gains by reducing the greedy business-clobbering capital gains tax. This will only improve the credit rating.

      "Eliminating the dividend taxes."

The dividend taxes are more unnecessary greed which forces investors to move their money overseas.

      "Eliminating the [death tax]."

Which is a great idea. The estate tax is not only rapacious greed, it mostly clobbers small business owners, and is a form of double taxation. It too forces people to hide their money, including moving it overseas.

"Reducing the TOP tax rate to around 9%; that is a 75% tax reduction for the TOP income earners."

Another great idea. This will spur investment, and cause a lot of people to move their investment money back into the US. It means a lot more jobs, growth, and more tax revenue.

"But he will make up for these cuts and reductions by slamming us with a "consumption tax" and dismantling our institutions of Social Security and Medicare."

Caught you in a lie. He will strengthen SS and Medicare by giving the people involved more control over their own money. Sorry, his plan to fix what is wrong with it does not "dismantle" it.

"Of course, it gets worse. He supports billions of dollars in tax breaks for the oil industry."

That's GREAT, not bad at all. Why the hell do you want to further over-tax oil companies and force them to raise prices? Good god, man, have you driven an automobile in the last 5 years??? I

"I mean, how does a guy like this get elected?"

By promising positive, sound, policies, and delivering on them. The way it should be.

"My theory is that he exploits low-information voters; there can be no other way."

An entirely invalid theory. Not surprising since you got all of the facts wrong, and are in fact advocating nothing short of fascism; the ruling elites stealing more from us.
Ryan is a clear winner on substance.

    2. "...explain to me how someone who voted in favor of the reckless Wall St. bailout is a "fiscal hawk"? Seriously."

The bailouts were indeed a policy of the Democratic Party, and were a hundreds of billions give away to corporations. This includes the auto handout.

Ryan voted for them. He was a in a minority of Republicans that did. But he has grown and now regrets this mistaken vote.

Obama does not. IF you hate TARP, then criticize Obama. Both he and Ryan voted for it. But Ryan now opposes it. Obama still thinks this horrid idea was good.

"Keep in mind that prior to rescuing the biggest Wall St. banks, he voted to deregulate them."

All the more reason to support Ryan. It was regulation on banks, specifically the government support of them giving bad loans, that caused the financial crash.

"Ryan is dangerous on economic issues and spending."

He is well informed and has great ideas. It would be dangerous not to do what he advocates. Again, you are a fascist, and believe letting the people decide is a bad idea.

"Ryan, however, is an irresponsible government taxer/spender and ultraconservative on social issues."

Caught you in another lie. His social views are mainstrea, not ultra-anything.

"He is on the Romney ticket to get that low-information voter."

Correction; He is on the ticket to appeal to the intelligent voter. The wonk. Those who thrive on specifics and facts, because, yes, Romney is vague.

      "Ryan's own math is wrong (at best); it is more likely fabricated.';

      It is correct and sound.

I" doubt this strategy is going to work."

So far, the voters are indeed turning away from Obama's failure to the sound solutions and good ideas of Romney and Ryan.

"but I do not think the public is this foolish to vote so far against its own economic/fiscal interests."

The are turning to R&R precisely because their policies are in the public interest.
